UPnP is under construction.

@Artax:

I noticed it too, if you're looking for an uPnP solution you should take a look at miniDlna, it is very small but very Powerfull, i have been using it for a while and it works great.

Is there an estimation of the delivery time for this feature, at least as order of magnitude? If we speak of days or few weeks, I can wait. Otherwise I have to install an OS-based DLNA server.

Thank you for the suggestion!

There is a lot of activities on this pull request. This month's merge window is open until 10th. If it does not go in during this window I think it will go in next month.

So this means new features are added until the 10'th and then only fixes for things in the code already?

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - FernetMenta - 2012-09-09

exactly.

UPnP was merged.

@Artax et al: please test the newest testing package to see if upnp is fixed for you

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - Artax - 2012-09-11

Sorry, but I do not want to instal the testing package (xbmc-xvba-testing). I prefer a more stable release on my HTPC, so I will wait :-)

Artax: Install it and I will guide you on how to go back.

ok, but please never ever again complain about something being broken

Hello again, and thanks for all the work done lately. After the last out-of-sync problem was solved, I've been running a stable and problem free (for the most part) system with semi-regular upgrades. Today I did a dist-upgrade after 2-3 weeks of no upgrades, and something appears to have changed since that as after reboot the playback FPS appears to have begun to fluctuate heavily while the audio goes in and out of sync constantly.

I've been trying to keep an eye on this thread for changes, but I might have missed and forgotten something. It would seem that after the upgrade refresh rate and playback sync to refresh rate doesn't work any more. When playback starts, the display refresh rate doesn't appear to change. The log would seem to indicate that refresh rate adjust has been performed but there is no change and xbmc-xrandr doesn't look like the refresh rate was changed either.

I haven't done very extensive testing, but I checked the settings and for some reason the adjust refresh rate had been changed to off, which I changed to 'always' setting without any apparent effect. Reboot did not help either. This is what I still get from a video that worked perfectly yesterday, so a file problem can probably be excluded:

From xbmc.log
Code:
21:16:04 T:2794453824  NOTICE:  fps: 23.976024, pwidth: 624, pheight: 352, dwidth: 624, dheight: 352
21:16:04 T:2794453824  NOTICE: Display resolution ADJUST : DFP2: 1920x1080 @ 23.98Hz (20) (weight: 0.000)

From xbmc-xrandr output during the playback:
Code:
<mode id="0x97" name="1920x1080" w="1920" h="1080" hz="50.00000" current="true" preferred="true"/>

Full xbmc.log (sorry, no debug enabled):
http://paste.ubuntu.com/1201054/

Full xbmc-xrandr output:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/1201047/

I can provide a debug log tomorrow if needed and if this isn't just obvious I've just missed.

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - fritsch - 2012-09-12

@nichiren:

Check: Video -> Playback -> Adjust Refresh Rate to match Video

This one changed during development. It is now not only True / False but you also have the possibility to set it to On Start / Stop. This new method will first change the refreshrate back when you really stop the video.

Can you check again during video playback?

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - nichiren - 2012-09-12

@fritsch

Yes, I noticed the setting had changed when the problem first came up. It was set to 'off', probably due to value range change. I've tried setting it to 'on start/stop', I even rebooted after setting it to 'always'. The log and xbmc-xrandr output I took after that reboot. I double checked that to make sure it's set to 'always' after the reboot as well.

I ran into a crash this morning after turning on the TV. I've been watching a movie yesterday, paused it and turned off the TV.

Here is the crash log:

RE: Howto Install XBMC PVR Xvba for AMD/ATI Radeon and Fusion GPUs - nichiren - 2012-09-13

Tried playing the same file again, this time I set the 'Adjust display refresh rate to match video' to 'On start/stop' and enabled debugging. Still no display mode change, it keeps using the same 1920x1080@50Hz mode as in earlier xbmc-xrandr output.

Debug log:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/1202531/

I tried to play the video, stop it, play it again, pausing, unpausing and stopping. No refresh rate change at any point. I verified adjustrefreshrate value was '2' in guisettings.xml.
