assertion failed error - falafael - 2012-03-25 Although i have just upgraded to eden, i had this problem recently using dharma, and that is whenever i go into my movie library, i get the assertion failed error, i have no idea what this is about, i normailly tell it to ignore it, but would like to get rid of it permanatley! Has anyone got any ideas at this stage? Thanks RE: assertion failed error - Ned Scott - 2012-03-25 let's see what the debug log (wiki) says RE: assertion failed error - falafael - 2012-03-27 hi, i get this on screen, plus here is the log.... Assertion failed Program : M:\xbmc\xbmc.exe File: libavformat/utils.c Line 2195 Expressions: s->chapter(i) -> start < = s - > chapters [ i +1] - v start log: http://pastebin.com/bDm0aRwD RE: assertion failed error - jhsrennie - 2012-03-27 I would guess the thumbnail generating thread is crashing trying to generate a thumbnail from M:\Movies\The Lion of Judah (2011) 720p BRRip x264-Anarchy.mp4. Try temporarily removing this file and see if the assert goes away. JR RE: assertion failed error - falafael - 2012-03-28 That was the one, deleted said film, and back to normal, thanks for that!! RE: assertion failed error - Skram0 - 2012-04-03 I've got a similar thread going too here. Interesting, my movie was an Anarchy MP4 release too. Those guys should be shot.. RE: assertion failed error - NJPhilips - 2012-09-09 Any idea what the fix is? I have similar errors, log shows several movies with same problem... What do I have to do to get XBMC working w/ the error-prone movies RE: assertion failed error - PatK - 2012-09-09 files with errors/corruption should be deleted... the debug logs should give you a hint at which file it is. Sometimes bad files come from failing drives, but most are bad downloads, either corrupted in transit or compression. RE: assertion failed error - jaydash - 2012-10-11 Hi, I've got the same issue that's recently popped up on an otherwise pretty reliable install... The Assertion Failed Error... Program : M:\xbmc\xbmc.exe File: libavformat/utils.c Line 2195 I am NOT proficient at deciphering XBMC's log files (which makes me feel kinda stupid, 'cause it's in simple English and everything!)... So, any help would be greatly appreciated! Here's my debug log for anyone willing to take a look: http://pastebin.com/nfqVA2ZN This debug log was made this morning, I started XBMC, navigated to my Movie Library, got the error, hit "ignore" on the error pop-up screen, and then exited XBMC -so I don't imagine there's much in the way of unrelated info in the log... hopefully that's helpful. If there's any other information that may be useful, I'll gladly supply it. Thanks for any help! RE: assertion failed error - Mr Del D - 2012-10-15 I am having the same problem with some movies. Does this error mean that the movie is corrupted and needs to be ripped again? (I ripped these from DVD or Blu-ray to mkv files.) Movies play correctly with VLC (so they don’t appear corrupted), but XBMC will not play the movie. Additionally, I will get the same error with any movie I play (as long as the offending movie is still in the folder), but XBMC will play the other movies and I do not get the error until I exit the movie being played. I have this problem with several movies, but once they are removed the error goes away. I am currently out of town, so cannot rip the movies again to test. FYI – I ripped the movies using AnyDVD and Handbrake. Thanks for your help Del RE: assertion failed error - Big Boss 66 - 2012-10-17 Hi Guys Whenever i try to brows movies this comes up & Xbmc crashes Assertion failed Program : M:\xbmc\xbmc.exe File: libavformat/utils.c Line 2195 Expressions: s->chapter(i) -> start < = s - > chapters [ i +1] - v start here i think is my logs Your debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10807 Your debug xbmc.old.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10808 Your XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10809 would really appreciated any help with this Dal RE: assertion failed error - Ned Scott - 2012-10-17 Can you re-upload xbmc.log with debugging turned on? (Settings/System/Debugging (wiki) -> Enable debug logging) RE: assertion failed error - Big Boss 66 - 2012-10-17 Your debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10827 Your debug xbmc.old.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10828 Your XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10829 thanks for taking the time Ned I am using the Xbmc log up loader bit new to this RE: assertion failed error - KaZen - 2012-10-20 I'm also having this same error. It's happening with quite a few of the videos I've used makeMKV and Handbrake to make. VLC plays them all fine, so I didn't know there was an issue with the files when I made them. Log with Debugging enabled (Check line 905): http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10999 crash log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=11000 RE: assertion failed error - truthlesshero - 2012-10-20 i'm getting the same error when just browsing through my movie library...i get the error almost immediately (at the very worst, in the first 30 seconds)....abort will terminate xbmc retry will cause xbmc to crash and ignore will have the error pop up again in about 30 seconds there seems to be a pattern here...that we're all getting this error i'm using xbmc on win 7 64 bit i'll try to post a debug log a little later edit: well, i took at look at the debug log...an anarchy movie backup as well! so it really looks like this group's movies are causing this assertion error in xbmc...i'll report if i get the crash without the problematic film... |
