Alright. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here's the full log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=30000

That "search using parent folder" buttom simply seems to be broken.

we know exactly what movie are you trying to get the subtitles for... why do you need to search using parent folder? parent folder is for users that do not use library.

Because I'm getting alot of results and have to pick the correct, synced one, by looking at the names and comparing them manually. I'd simply like a function that automatically compares the parent folder with the subtitles, finds an identical "sync" and activates it. The best would be if it did all this totally automatically and didn't even require me to every time click "search using parent folder" when there's a nonsense filename.

I thought that this functionality was already there and that I didn't know how to use it, or that it was simply broken in the most recent version. My apologies if I've misunderstood the "search using parent folder" and want to thank you for an otherwise excellent addon!

@ tarmdjur

just wanted to point out that amet can't help you without proper info - just check this thread (first page + search "cliped")

Well, I did post the full debug log and described what i thought was a broken function. Is there anything else I should have done?

the parent folder search functionality is hacked in for users that use file mode, for others using library mode of XBMC movie(tv show) name is picked up from XBMC info label and used in a search.

opensubtitles, podnapisi and some others use "sync" labels to identify subs that are supposedly a 100% match... in that case we can autodownload those subtitles for first language. it relies on subtitle service correctly sending "sync" label back.

nope its all good, Burke just pointed out what we keep saying all the time.. do not clip it, thats all, if you think you are exposing any passwords or sensitive data you are welcome to edit it but there is info in the log that we do need to see

RE: [RELEASE] XBMC Subtitles - Addon Script - chrisnes - 2013-01-27

Hi, first of all thank you for this excellent add-on. For me, XBMC is pretty useless without it.

Unfortunately XBMC keeps crashing for me from time to time when searching for subtitles. This happens usually if I search again if I ignore the first search result. For example, I pause the movie, press the subtitle icon, it finds a subtitle at a service, I select next service on the list, and XBMC crashes/freezes (I have to stop it using windows task manager).

XBMC log: http://pastebin.com/gsVePeHN
Windows crash report: http://pastebin.com/b9LgVFbk

I've had this problem with several different XBMC versions (all running on the same computer in the same network though) the past coupe of years.

Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks and regards,
Christian.

Not much that can be done for Eden. Perhaps time to upgrade to Frodo in near future.

yes, you are using a alpha/beta build... use RC3 or wait for stable release

I've already fixed it here:
https://github.com/kispaljr/script.xbmc.subtitles/commit/9f7f90e042689d44fe227109ebf2395b58d9f317

It has been merged into the official repo since, so you just have to wait for the new release to come out (most probably with Frodo).
If you are impatient you can download the fixed version from here:
https://github.com/kispaljr/script.xbmc.subtitles/tree/frodo
