RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Ribuck - 2012-06-16 Hi jompan87, yeah I see your point and i totally agree it's not fair to put pressure on gimli, but I think from j1nx's post he's seen a demo of it decoding big bunny and gimli wouldn't have posted a few teasers if he didn't want people to know...... RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - j1nx - 2012-06-16 (2012-06-16, 11:05)Ribuck Wrote: Hi jompan87, yeah I see your point and i totally agree it's not fair to put pressure on gimli, but I think from j1nx's post he's seen a demo of it decoding big bunny and gimli wouldn't have posted a few teasers if he didn't want people to know...... Nah... Because is is f$cking around, I thought lets f$ck around as well and through another piece of wood on the fire I don't now shit...... (no really) RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Ribuck - 2012-06-16 J1nx you're an evil man, messing with our heads like this.......ah sod it I'm off to buy a zotac RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - j1nx - 2012-06-16 (2012-06-15, 08:01)j1nx Wrote: When I have time later this evening, I will see if I can point the guys to the evb.bin hardware initialisation files information and how to extract the proper one for the MK802 from android, so they can fix there memory issue. OK, I have looked into it a bit more. Although you can extract the evb.bin hardware initialisation file from the original android release for the 1GB version, it will not do you any good. As it looks, the SDRAM params are not initialised from the evb.bin by U-Boot. Instead they are hardcoded into the U-Boot loader code by Allwinner. (They had their reasons). Basically they rebased the ubuntu 10.10 released earlier by Tom Cubie and changed the rootfs. They also basically use the U-Boot-SPL from the mele and therefor the hardcoded 512 MB memory. Secondly, they also used the same 3.0.8 android kernel which is based on closed sources from Allwinner and is an Android kernel including the paranoid_kernel settings and such. What they should do is compiling the new 3.0.31 kernel from here; https://github.com/amery/linux-allwinner Secondly they need to replace the U-Boot compiled from here; https://github.com/hno/uboot-allwinner But off course first updated the hardcoded 512 memory SDRAM parameters. I am in the freaking dessert at the moment, so that goes to far for me at this moment. They will most likely figure it out PS: Tom Cubie will shortly release the documentation on how to compile the Mali-400 X11 drivers. RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Shivansps - 2012-06-16 What about flash support? last night i was about to attempt using the libflashplayer.so thats is on Android, but i run out of time. Even if it takes months to release, AllWinner A10 will remain the best XBMC processor out there for a long time, the video decoder in that thing is just too good. RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Snippo - 2012-06-16 I have two short questions about the Mele A1000: 1) Video hardware-acceleration does work on Android out-of-the-box, right? 2) Will the Mele A1000 get an update to Android 4.0 (ICS)? RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - j1nx - 2012-06-16 1) Yes 2) beta: https://www.wuala.com/zercosz/Mele%20A2000/Firmware/?key=ThisIsFC2012 RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - j1nx - 2012-06-16 Hmmm Jean-luc already looked into it and there apears to be an issue with the 3.0.31 kernel and the MK802. So for now you have to use the 3.0.8 kernel. Anyway, Jean-luc made a nice script a couple of days ago, similar as the one from linaro. If you want to use 12.04, you might be better of building it yourself using the Linaro rootfs as that is really optimized for ARM http://www.cnx-software.com/2012/06/13/hardware-packs-for-allwinner-a10-devices-and-easier-method-to-create-a-bootable-ubuntu-12-04-sd-card/ RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - gimli - 2012-06-16 (2012-06-16, 10:42)Ribuck Wrote: Would just be nice to get an indicator of time, I.e. does gimli think it's going to be in the next month or next 3 month, 6 months etc. It is done when it's finished RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Shivansps - 2012-06-16 uh RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - davy39 - 2012-06-16 Quote:Anyway, Jean-luc made a nice script a couple of days ago, similar as the one from linaro. I read that some users got their Mele A1000 deliverd from china with Build "apollo_mele-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 20120422 test-keys & google play (market)" which has market included and no FCs. Any idea where to get that build ? Is there any way to extract the rom from a device ? RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Ribuck - 2012-06-16 Can I ask what util people are using to write the ics image to SD as I tried a couple of apps and it wouldn't boot yet Ubuntu imaged booted perfect RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - d1dd1 - 2012-06-16 I use Phoenixcard which is in the original Mele firmware update packages to write the image on the SD. I made firware updates, didn't try to boot the ROMs from SD. RE: Allwinner A10 : Is XBMC ported to MALI-400MP ? - Ribuck - 2012-06-16 Tried phoenixcard from win7 but it just keep bombing out, maybe I'll try windows xp |
