RE: AMD Trinity APU - bossanova808 - 2012-05-02 Given the same TDP of 65 watts, and assuming the pricing is likely to stay roughly in line, why wouldn't one go for the A10-5700 when it comes?? There doesn't seem to be any disadvantage (except cost). RE: AMD Trinity APU - eskro - 2012-05-02 cant comment till i see Trinity price tags RE: AMD Trinity APU - bossanova808 - 2012-05-02 Yeah but my question is - ignoring cost, so only technical, is there likely to be ANY disadvantage to the trinity chips over the llanos? Honestly, I can afford it given the amount I use my htpc (add this to a silent streacom, is the plan) - I'd rather get it right that save any $s. It's a i3-2100/H61 that's given me a hard time with deinterlacing Live TV 1080i content. I had to put my HD5670 in it which was in the old system it replaced so I was not too happy. The i3-2100/H61 will make a nice upgrade to my office PC . I will wait to see prices though, especially compared to Ivy Bridge i3-3225 when it comes out. RE: AMD Trinity APU - Castrol - 2012-05-03 Gaming should be better too - PC Console anyone RE: AMD Trinity APU - MrKay - 2012-05-08 Look's like the apu trinity desktop apu will be launched in August. And the notebooks models will be release this month http://www.channelbiz.co.uk/2012/05/08/amd-ready-to-launch-its-a-series-apus/ RE: AMD Trinity APU - MrKay - 2012-05-08 I am more looking forward to kaveri that will have graphics performance on par with Radeon HD 7750. Now that will be amazing to see http://www.nordichardware.com/news/69-cpu-chipset/45310-amd-kaveri-graphics-performance-on-par-with-radeon-hd-7750.html RE: AMD Trinity APU - Castrol - 2012-05-10 August - Oh well I have no money at the moment anyway AMD Trinity APU - bossanova808 - 2012-05-10 Yeah I am waiting till the 15th to see what comes but will probably go A6 3500 if August = accurate, then rebuild when trinity plus one comes out I think. Price doesn't bother me really, I don't spend much on myself and this is my one hobby, so I want Right rather than Cheap. The idea was (is) to actually skip trinity for the next APU (FM2/FM3?) - so yes new mobo and APU, but the rest (Case, SSD, RAM maybe, etc) will probably still be usable with Trinity + 1. Desktop Trinity is looking like August according to the news I can find today, so that's too long to wait, I have $1000 credit burning a hole in my pocket... |
