RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - s1l3nc0r - 2012-04-16 Have you tried playing a Hi10p encoded anime file with this htpc ? I am curious if it would be able to play the following release (without hickups and/or stuttering): [UTW]_Fate_Zero_-_01_[BD][h264-1080p_FLAC][50256238].mkv Especially during the op / ed A customised build of XBMC that supports 10bit can be found here (install it and run it with -p): Hi10p XBMC builds RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 - beetlesnack - 2012-04-16 (2012-04-13, 23:16)jack0w Wrote: Thanks for the reassurance, your temperatures seem to be within a few degrees of mine. That's weird! I'll check again when I get a chance. OP - 17 C is significantly below room temperature! What are you doing, watching movies outside in the winter? RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - eskro - 2012-04-17 i know the answer's no but, hey Beer40, why not make a small 2min vid showing XBMC UI speed under your setup? RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - Beer40oz - 2012-04-17 Because it's just normal as it should be.... I mean no lag..... lol maybe one day. RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - eskro - 2012-04-17 Beer40oz, can u measure how much space there is here? (click image for bigger view) most slim optical drives are ~5 in. deep... just wondering if it would fit or interfere with shuriken's fan.... i suspect the space to be around ~9.84 in. (~250 mm) by the looks of it. but, im probably wrong thx RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - KraziJoe - 2012-04-17 It looks like an optical drive will fit in there. I hope so!!! RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - g8m3r - 2012-04-17 Hey guys, Thanks for the great post. Is there a different cpu cooler that one can use for this build that would fit without the need to cut the bracket? Thanks Re: RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - jack0w - 2012-04-17 (2012-04-17, 16:35)g8m3r Wrote: Hey guys, I opted for the Scythe SCKZT-1000 CPU cooler with an Antec ISK300-150. No metal cutting required to fit this one! I was just thinking about that..... the Scythe SCSK-1100 100mm Shuriken Rev. B 3 right? I own that one too its on my other system.... you have proof it fits? pics? with out cutting? does it touch the bracket on top? thanx,,,, This is nice.... if no one want to cut.... to get the 120mm shuriken to fit in there. If this is true.... ill add it on the front of the page...... cant go wrong with either... but I am thinking that the Scythe SCSK-1100 100mm Shuriken Rev. B 3 might just fit with out cutting...... RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - jack0w - 2012-04-17 The 1000 definitely fits without cutting, as I have had it in my build since day one! I haven't seen temperature exceed 40 degrees, and that's with the fan speed turned all the way down in the BIOS - going from memory think its rotating at around 1800 rpm. Picture I've also just installed a PicoPSU today following advice from wsume99 - thanks so much for helping me track down the cause of high power consumption in my build! Granted I could have gotten away with a smaller PicoPSU, but when I ordered the smaller ones seemed to be out of stock with a long lead time so I decided to go for this one instead. I've done a comparison of max power consumption in two scenarios below and can safely say I'm very happy with my PicoPSU! Standard Antec 150w PSU that came with case: 83w max whilst running Prime95 ||| 75w max playing 1080p video in XBMC. PicoPSU-120 + 110w Brick - 67w max whilst running Prime95 ||| 43w max playing 1080p video in XBMC. RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - Beer40oz - 2012-04-17 1800 rpm. wow that must be loud... I just checked instead of going by memory! 2250 rpm showing in the bios for CPU fan. 900rpm showing in bios for case fan. Nope... Sitting two metres away it's near enough inaudible in my lounge. I may even remove the case fan depending on temperatures when the weather warms up! RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - eskro - 2012-04-17 yeah the SCYTHE KOZUTI 40mm does fit without cutting the bracket. i thought we were talking about the 64mm Scythe SCBSK-1100 cooler. RE: Antec ISK 300-65 HTPC A6-3500 Super Silent - CpTHOOK - 2012-04-17 Beer.... Wow am I in the dark. I've really lost touch since starting school and havent checked into XBMC as frequent as normal. What a great build my friend. It's seems like you've picked all the right tools for a perfect set-up. Hey..... you know imma copy off you right!! |
