A good site to use so that folks can all be using the same sample tracks to compare results. yeah, i have posted it multiple times already (most recently here). this isn't my first rodeo RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - puntloos - 2012-09-13 OpenELEC_frodo Version: devel-20120912200632-r12052 ZBox ID80 (D2700 + GT520M) Has anyone ran across the following: I've told XBMC my receiver does not support DD/DTS/anything EXCEPT LPCM. Everything works great, receiver is getting LPCM for everything. One failure: Simple AC3 is mixed incorrectly. I'm hearing the rear surround channel in the front speakers. The log is here: http://pastebin.com/pZAuPCpT The relevant bit IMO is here: Code: 02:25:49 T:140424062732032 INFO: ==[Downmix Matrix]== Unless I misunderstand, FL is indeed getting FL(1) and SL(0.7070.) etc which I can clearly hear as well. On a more general note: is there a known bugs post so I don't have to read through 32189473129847 posts to see if my issue has come up somewhere? RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - geearf - 2012-09-13 It seems benkibbey 's last commit fixed my pulseaudio issue. It is now back on. Thanks! On one hand just interpreting the word 'side' it might mean side speakers (as opposed to fronts or rears) but given that AC3 is max 6 channel it doesn't seem sensible to think this is true here. Fact is that when bitstreaming the file, my receiver sends the 'rear channels' to the rear speakers Perhaps AE is treating 'side' as a hint to send the sound inbetween fronts and rears, but in this case, I would say it is not the intended situation with this specific type of files. RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - jz1276 - 2012-09-15 I was getting audio drop outs with dtsma until i selected "sync audio to playback" option now no more dropouts... no idea why this helped. RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - P-I H - 2012-09-15 I played around with the system today. Changed some settings - In Video-Settings and Playback, I set Render method to "Basic shaders (ARB) and removed "Activate Teletext" - System-Settings and Audio output I changed Play GUI sounds to "Never" After this I logged out and logged in with the XBMC login instead of Ubuntu. Then I played some media without any audio dropouts Music Videos - DTS HD MA 48 kHz, HD 720P - Dolby True HD 48 kHz, HD 720P - Dolby True HD 96 kHz, HD 720P - Multichannel PCM 48 kHz, 720P - DTS HD High Resolution, HD 720P Film - DTS-ES Mtrx, HD 720P - Dolby Digital 5.1, SD Recorded TV - DTS 5.1 HD 720P I suppose there is some kind of timing problem when I use the Ubuntu login and perhaps the other settings doesn't matter. RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - schmoko - 2012-09-16 I'm having an issue where audio drops out completely after playing a stream. It doesn't happen with every stream, but it will happen at some point during any session where four or five files are opened, or after changing a few channels in PVR. This is occuring using SPDIF for normal and pass through audio. Device is an AMD Intel HD Audio integrated chip. (NVIDIA GT430 is installed but is _not_ being used for audio) I'm not positive when the regression was introduced, I've been hoping it would be fixed on its own for atleast a few weeks. Audio was working fine before AE, and has been working since AE was added. Here is a debug log where it occured: http://pastebin.com/85n6uaLm Steps Taken:
Ubuntu 12.04, running XBMC over lightdm with no pulse-audio. XBMC git revision 57d392d5b5d223027278a0c75b6fcf4815f5a12c Code: $ lspci | grep Audio schmoko RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - ray1112 - 2012-09-16 ALPHA6 break AE. ALPHA4 and ALPHA5 are working great (HD movies with DTS-HD MA and True-HD, HD music 192x24). ALPHA6: after turn off and turn on AV receiver I have dropouts for any movies and for any music. Log: http://pastebin.com/v9irCXRG 16:01:17 T:3010370368 ERROR: CAESinkALSA::HandleError(snd_pcm_writei(1)) - underrun NVIDIA: nvidia-current 290.10-0ubuntu2 I need reboot computer for fix audio. RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - DDDamian - 2012-09-17 Re: problems in two posts above - can one of you try the following tag in advanced settings.xml: Code: <audio> For details on what it does see my post here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=124600&pid=1036295#pid1036295 Let me know if enabling that tag solves the above issues. RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - schmoko - 2012-09-17 DDamon: It sounds like streamsilence would fix the issue, but I am seeing this issue whether it is enabled or not. The log provided has streamsilence enabled. schmoko. RE: AudioEngine testers - Linux only - DDDamian - 2012-09-17 @schmoko - thx for the feedback - will look for other causes |
