Okay, I'm confused on where abandoning last.fm leaves us. I've tried a few of the alternate Artist Information xbmc scrapers and using "Sammy Hagar" as a test, nothing happens. What scraper is recommended for artist information, fanart, and thumbs?

Universal scraper!

So, with the account issues, last.fm has simply been removed in the latest version from the scraper list of Universal Scraper? So shouldn't the remaining scrapers produce some sort of result? Now I've tried "Sammy Hagar" with Universal Artist Scraper, and "Sammy Hagar" is the top of the list of results, but when I select him it scrapes nothing: no bio, artwork... nothing. Is it something I've setup incorrectly? I'm feeling quite dense on this matter. Thanks for your patience.

Hi, Curtis. I recently asked a similar question. Have a read of my question on post #145 and the reply an #153:

Create the various accounts as appropriate, and generate the data. I nearly did this for you, but better to learn how to catch a fish Wink Let me know if you need any further assistance with this.

"It's news ... but 10 days to re-enable a key, and no reason for doing so is still poor." said the cynic.

We are still discussing with last.fm how and under what terms we can put back the option to scrape from them.

Any update ? I noticed yesterday that i was notified when I started XBMC that last.fm addon have been updated (changed). I hope you can work something out with them. I find that my music collection is a little older so I have greater sucess with last fm on that stuff. As always thank you all for your efforts.

RE: [Release] Universal Scraper for Music Artists - olympia - 2013-01-30

The update is that the last.fm scrapers are back on. You can use them.
I am thinking about putting back on the option to the Universal Scraper. I am not keen to...

It doesn't matter how old is the music when it comes to add it to TheAudioDB.com...

RE: [Release] Universal Scraper for Music Artists - tymmy - 2013-01-30

Thanks I hope you add it on.... I know the ultimate answer is to support sites like The AudioDB.com. I hope we all use this instance as a wake up call. Last FM was Disabled on my system and still is. The Official repostitory still has it disabled., not sure how to get it going again. Thanks for all you work and I will begin a process to get all my artist into the audiodb.

Re: [Release] Universal Scraper for Music Artists - olympia - 2013-01-30

You're right about the ultimate answer. We will only get somewhere if we build this up. And we are on a very good track.

I hate to think about those folks (i am not talking about you personally here) who sit back, wait and whining about lack of support of this or that site until others are building up good quality databases, but following that they are of course jumping to the ship without any contribution and/or donation.

You only need to enable the last.fm scrapers in the addon manager

RE: [Release] Universal Scraper for Music Artists - tymmy - 2013-01-30

The enable button is ghosted and I cant enable it. I suppose I have to wait to the change it from being labeled Broken,
