RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.5 - Mossy - 2013-03-05

Version 3.0.7 released - see first post for change log.

For those of you using the repositories: There repository location is changing which means that you need to install a new repository. This will happen fairly automatically. Version 3.0.6 of the plugin will prompt you to allow the new repository to install.

Select "Install". You will be prompted to restart XBMC for the change to take affect, but if you just want to use the plugin you can re-run it at this point, though the new repository won't be in effect until after you restart XBMC.

Note: If the new repo fails to install, try restarting XBMC before trying again. If that doesn't work then you can download the new repository from the downloads page.

That log doesn't show the 4oD plugin trying to play anything.

here is a log from Ireland ... same issue diff location & diff hardware

The fact that the plugin passes what appears to be a valid rtmp url to XBMC and XBMC fails to play implies that the problem lies with XBMC, or your setup. The fact that your using an alpha version might have something to do with it.

You could try running it with a default XBMC configuration (delete or move your current config folder).

Show me a debug from XBMC 12 and I'll look into it further.

Quickly stopping by to say the repo changed for me yesterday on openelec, I think the first time it popped up there was an error message saying install manually but then a few minutes later it tried again and installed the new repo properly. Like others I want to say how much I appreciate your work on this Mossy and for every post of thanks there'll be another couple of dozen people who are silently thankful I'm sure Smile

XBMC is a little buggy in this area, after the old repository updates the plugin to 3.0.6 you may need to restart XBMC before the plugin will install the new repository. It's possible that using the old repo prevents the new one from being installed from the plugin.

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.7 - Gull - 2013-03-07

Mossy but what values should I put into Server/IP & Port under Addons setting-Proxy tab after selecting Proxy for HTTP option so to watch 4od outside UK? I checked the wiki page but did not gain much understanding from it.

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.7 - Mossy - 2013-03-07

First you need to find a UK based proxy (Google is your friend). A proxy is a server through which you can pass your web traffic, the website that you connect to through the proxy then thinks that your traffic is coming from the proxy, so if the proxy is in the UK then you appear to be in the UK.

You probably need to pay for a proxy, the free ones aren't likely to be reliable enough for your needs.

If you don't already use a proxy then you may be better off using a VPN service or DNS forwarding service,

RE: [RELEASE] 4oD (Video) Addon - UK Channel 4 on demand. v.3.0.7 - Mossy - 2013-03-10

The scripts script.tv.show.next.aired and script.tvtunes are called a few seconds after the video stream is initialised, it's possible that the 4oD plugin and those other scripts are interfering with each other.

Try again with a default XBMC configuration only install the 4oD plugin, see what happens.
