That's going to be a nice HTPC!

Personally, I'd go with a larger SSD. I've got a 128GB model in mine - but I also use my HTPC for ripping and encodes.

well i dont know much about ripping yet, but thats what the 3tb hard drive will store, the ssd is really for the os

Yep, I get it. I only suggest it because you really have to watch your SSD when you have that much space. I've tried to be as careful as could be with a clean install, and only the essential programs I need - plus moving all documents, temp directories, page file, etc. - and still have gobbled up 55GB of 120GB in a flash!

UPDATE:

Everything came in. I put it all together, but im not getting any signal to the monitor. Went over connections 100 times, and im just hoping the motherboard isnt defective.

Use a VGA connection then update the BIOS.

it keeps telling me the monitor is in sleep mode and to wake it up, but the comp wont recognize the keyboard or mouse

Is there any sign of power at all on the mobo?

If you have a multimeter, you can do as I suggested in this post #10.......

RE: Took the dive in! 3d HTPC build will commence! - mikev927 - 2012-07-05

Do you have a spare video card you could pop in there and check that way?
Also, have you tried a second monitor/display?

RE: Took the dive in! 3d HTPC build will commence! - mikev927 - 2012-07-05

my little brother just got it going. he called me and called me a bitch and said its up and running... smh... it was probably a wrong connection...
