I enabled everything that should be enabled; filled in everything that should be filled in, but nada.
I tried port 80, 8080 & 9090.
Host is on a local machine, so 127.0.0.1.
When I tried to sync (retrieve watched), I got Host not found.

I have an issue with my copy of OS, where I can't enable telnet via Turn Windows Feature on or off to test it, because it's blank, however....
I tried
Quote:http://www.<host>:<port number>/jsonrpc
and I was prompted to enter my credentials.

Any suggestions?

I have reported this issue (many pages back in this very thread), and found out it only works one way (from MediaElch to XBMC), but there are some limitations:

1. You have to mark the show watched in MediaElch.

2. You need to have a setting in the AdvancedSettings.xml for this to work.

Both were brought up (with I believe the correct settings) in my posts.

It would be nice if Komet could retrieve watched status, as well as send, as that would eliminate the need to update my library's all the time (or at least help sync them all together).

Found my post, check out this thread...

Thanks.

What would happen if I were to reinstall Kodi? I know I can make a backup of everything, but let's say one of my video's play count got incremented. When restore Kodi, would the .nfo file reflect the increment in both Kodi and MediaElch?

If you follow the settings I posted, and you reinstalled Kodi (and made changes to the AdvancedSettings file), when you import your files into Kodi (at least for Movies), it will import the Watched Status (which should match MediaElch).

I know it will import the watch status, but for some reason the play count matters to me. The play count in MediaElch will not increment in accordance to the play count in Kodi.

I can search and save without problems, but when I click poster, thumb or whatever to change it, it goes out of focus and locks up. It doesn't say "not answering" or anything like that, but I can't interact with it.

HAH, found it. I've been logged in through RDP when I had a multi-monitor setup. When I logged in with my (single-monitor) laptop, the window where you can choose the poster was on the now not available monitor. I clicked <Windows-Button> (or CMD on my Mac) + Arrows to re-arrange the window to the main screen.

Lol. MediaElch rules, Windows sucks!

Hmm, just noticed that I've never used season fanart/backdrop. How do I enable this? It seems like MediaElch only downloads fanart for the whole show.

Hi Guys,

Any tips on how to install it on Fedora 21?

John

Hi

Is there anyway to keep the commas when saving the votes count in movies.

Mediaelch correctly displays commas when scraping but when its saved the commas are gone, eg. 222,123 gets saved in nfo file as 222123.

Thanks

Deleted because my brain wasn't working. This is a great piece of software.

Is there a general guide / faq for this tool? The wiki links to a URL which redirects to the main page, and I was unable to find a guide from there.

No, there is not. You can read some of the 103 pages of this thread or do a search for what you want to know.

And by all means start an FAQ if you feel one is needed Wink

One more problem that I noticed.
The Movie Multi Scraper is having issues. It only scrape some movies. I have to scrape them manually; I'm talking about 665 movies.

IMDB seems to be outdated or faulty. It scrapes 'Justice League The New Frontier (2008)' as being on the top 250 list, but it isn't.

Well, that is not much to go on Tongue

How do you want to install? Using KVibes PPA? Default sources from ubuntu? Do you want to use a deb package? Or do you want to build from source?

And what errors do you get?

Let see if we can extract that extra info out of you Big Grin

Ok i installed the PPA
add-apt-repository ppa:kvibes/mediaelch
then
apt-get update
i get
W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/kvibes/mediaelch/ubuntu/dists/vivid/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/kvibes/mediaelch/ubuntu/dists/vivid/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

There is nothing for vivid

I'll try compile from git

RE: MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping) - _J@n_ - 2015-06-14

Hi,

Before you go there (compiling from GIT I mean) you might want to try the following:

Go to /etc/apt/sources.list.d

Edit (or create) the file kvibes-mediaelch-trusty.list (it might be called kvibes-mediaelch-vivid.list) but make a backup first Wink

And replace whatever is in there for this:

Quote:deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kvibes/mediaelch/ubuntu utopic main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/kvibes/mediaelch/ubuntu utopic main

Works for me! There is no vivid ppa/source made available by K.
