Hi, what do you mean "Can't remove". Could you explain what you mean in a bit more detail? Smile
Yea. For TV shows I don't want a thumbnail. So I'll delete the NFO file for all the episodes of a season and the TVshow.nfo. Rescrape with all artwork turned off. Save. And it still puts a <thumb> tag with a url to TMDB. I don't want any episode thumbnails and want Kodi to handle thumbnail generation. How can I stop it from adding a <thumb>"tmdb url"<thumb>? It doesn't seem like it's possible because I've done everything I can think of unless it has something to do with how the scraping is setup without some UI option to change.

Ah, now I get it. Indeed, the "Thumbnail" checkbox only disables the download of the thumbnail image but not the `thumbs` tags.
That is not possible at the moment.

I've opened an issue to keep track of it here: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/1322

MediaElch v2.8.12 - Coridian

The next stable version 2.8.12 is here!

Blog Post: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-blog/posts/mediaelch-v2.8.12/
Documentation: https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-doc/download.html

What's new?
I've fixed three bugs that made MediaElch crash. I'd like to thank Alexander Weber for helping me to find and fix these issues.
One of them existed even before v2.8.8, the other two were introduced in v2.8.8.

Furthermore, the AllMusic scraper is fixed and scrapes reviews again.

Where can I download MediaElch?
Stable releases can be downloaded from https://mediaelch.github.io/mediaelch-doc/download.html
We have a download-mirror on https://mediaelch-downloads.ameyering.de/releases/v2.8.12/ instead of bintray. The latter has shut down.
The former is my own server. So please be patient if the server is not reachable. :-)

For Linux distributions we provide repositories for Ubuntu (.deb) and openSUSE (.rpm).
For Windows we also provide a Chocolatey package.
The repositories will take a few days to get the latest version.

Where can I get help?
For general question use Kodi forums, e.g.

@bugwelle - Thanks for the hard work and the latest update. I have been meaning to mention this for quite a few years now, but always did stuff manually. Here are a list of issues that I've found using ME.

1 - When an allmusic album ID is inserted into the NFO file, KODI reject it from a scan. I then have to go into the NFO file and manually remove it.
2 - The reviews '"' does not get parsed when viewing it from the KODI interface. As a matter of fact, no HTML is parsed in the LODI interface when viewing the reviews, artist inof (date, location etc...).
3 - Not all reviews are being scanned from allmusic. I manually searched the album / artist review, and it was available from allmusic.

Shedrock

Hi,

thank you for your feedback! Regarding 1 + 2, I have to look into it. For 2: What's inside the NFO? Is it & or &? Smile

For 3: We load the album from MusicBrainz. If they don't have a link to AllMusic, then we don't load it from there. Undecided
AFAIK, that's also how Kodi does it.

Andre

Here is a link to one of the NFO file for an album I scraped.

Please give me a few days. I'll try to look into it on the weekend but can't promise anything. Smile

Hi,

just copy&paste from GitHub:

The reason for this change is that we now use SVG vector images. We use vector images as they make usage on High DPI display possible.

Also, the origin of those icons is unclear (neither I nor @ Komet can find them on the internet anymore) and the new ones have a better license (LGPL3).
I want to avoid third party icons that we can't find the origin of.
And because we can't find them anymore, we can't find higher resolution versions of them. So we can't prepare for better High DPI display support. Undecided

I can understand that the icons are too thin for you. I'll see how we can improve that.

Please let me know what icon(s) you find especially un-intuitive and I'll see how we can improve that.

Regards,
Andre

At the moment that's not possible. There's an open feature request for that: https://github.com/Komet/MediaElch/issues/502

RE: MediaElch - MediaManager for Mac/Linux/Win (with music library scraping) - hammersmith - 2021-06-04

when i scrape my tv shows, about half of them have a blue star to the left of the shows and half don't.
what's with the blue star?
both blue starred and non-blue starred shows work fine with kodi set to scan for local content.
how to do i resolve this?
