If I backup userdata folder in Linux, will it restore to Windows? - cable_guy - 2012-07-28

Hi all,

I'm thinking of going from XBMC Live to Windows, I'm wondering if there is any point in backing up my userdata folder if it won't work in Windows.

Anyone know the answer to this please?

I'm fairly certain that most of the files in the userdata folder are identical across platforms. The only change I'm aware of is the location of the userdata folder.

Depending on how you setup your sources, the paths to the video and audio files might not work when you move to Windows. That would require a rescan of your sources to rebuild those databases.
