On the XBMC devcon liveblog the following was mentioned,
Quote:In the past, the largest problem has been binary plugins. The first suggestion is simply to drop binary plugins. That’s possible now.
So… there’s really no other stopper. Without binaries, PVR is possible now. The September Cycle is going to be an exciting one!
What does this mean in layman's terms? Can PVR add-ons be done all in Python now?

huh?


It was only mentioned that for now binary addons won't be standard included in the release builds because of the building of them. Users would need to install them themselves from a special repo.
