Somehow these cables got disconnected during shipping from the LED board.

So my power switch and LED lights won't work. This isn't my area here, but is this repairable? Or should I just RMA it to Frozen CPU... when they have more in stock?

Is that a thumbdrive?

For xbmc, is there any difference between IntelĀ® HD 4400 graphics (Brix) and HD 5000 (NUC) ?

Just thought you might be interested in this - worked for me!

"Pin 19 of the hdmi cable is a hot-plug signal carrier.

So to test I've simply put a slip of insulating tape over it before inserting it.
First I used moninfo to create an inf file for my avr (pioneer vsx-2020) and set windows (v7) to use it.

Had to start then shut down then start the computer again and since that all is well.
No more xbmc crashes and dis-continued audio etc when turning off the tv, projector, changing input on the avr or even turning off the avr

Some people may find the need to pull-up pin 19 to 5v using a 1k resistor to pin 18?

The original forum is here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Foru...80a21fdc2/"

I posted this on http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=131590&page=4 ages ago!

Someone should make this a sticky or something as ive posted this in a few places since I started using it back in Feb :-)

Intel has a page up for the haswell NUC here http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/nuc/nuc-kit-d54250wyk.html

Seems to be a very nice setup for a htpc complete with CIR. Hopefully, it will be available soon, sounds great for relatively silent htpc. Hopefully they release an NUC with the GT3e GPU as well.

my first htpc can't wait to get my hands on it.

Not if it doesn't come in all black, this is very ugly imo.

Thanks for posting this. Looks to potentially be a perfect solution for a tiny, very powerful HTPC. I too wish it were all black however I can deal with the color. I guess I'll move my i3 into the family room and the i5 will fit nicely into my home theater...

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC possibilities - Ayala - 2013-09-10

I thought haswell and ivy ran just as hot, what are the potential benefits from this new model other than its built in IR??

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC possibilities - Platypus2 - 2013-09-10

Are you sure they run at same temperature? I thought haswell was optimised for mobile use, less power usage and therefore must have lower temperatures??

Anyway, we have discussed haswell vs ivy a few pages back, hopefully it won't start the argument again but short answer;

Haswell processor - speed / temperature / hd 4400 or 5000 / 23.976 fps fix
CIR
4x usb 3.0

Also
Full sata port if there is ever a case to use it
Headphone jack so analog audio out

Aside from cost and availability (which is unknown atm) there isn't really a reason to go ivy now.

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC possibilities - Plaverda - 2013-09-10

Anybody have any idea when this will be out to buy?

I missed posting this the last time, link for i3 version of the haswell NUC http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/nuc/nuc-kit-d34010wyk.html

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC possibilities - hamiltong - 2013-09-11

New NUC look interesting (thx for the news) :

All new NUC has IR (infrared) built-in, USB3.0, mini DisplayPort and min HDMI and WiDi (wireless display) compatibility

NUC D34010WYK:

i3 -4010U (1.7Ghz Dual) and some spec say Intel HD 4400 and some specs say Intel HD 5000 (probably a typo on their product PDF - suspect it's HD4400 for the i3)

NUC D54250WYK:
i5-4250U (1.3Ghz + turbo 2.6Ghz Dual) and Intel HD5000 + Intel CVT HD (Clear Video HD Technology)

Ok maybe I'm mistaken... I look forward to acquiring one of these, sucks that I now have to wait even longer for a passively cooled solution for the haswell though.

thanks for pointing out the extra features!
