i have connected the nuc into sony lcd directly but theres no sound
i dont know how to make it working im new to the XBMC
i try from audio output with no luck

thank you in advance
You can setup Frodo audio output similar to my screen shot below, and it'll be Intel for your NUC. Here are more tips- Simplify XBMC configurations......

Thx I'm going to check my settings again
It's a little bit different than your setup I will post screen setting if didn't work with me

Thx all
If you are using HDMI cable from NUC to LCD, the audio output in Frodo should be identtical (other than mine is AMD and your is Intel).....

Re: Intel NUC - HTPC possibilities - yaser222 - 2013-02-27

Ok now everything is working like it should be

The sound i made some configuration
And it's working good for now
I don't know if there's another configuration should do the trick

But this one works with me

Image

And for the remote android app
The problem it was from the user name
It's xbmc
And I wrote it in capital XBMC because of that didn't work in the beginning

So Thx all for the info I appreciate your help

Will be back soon if I got into problems Big Grin

No. Like I said, it should be analog.

Looks good. Analog is what works best for me as well. You're welcome! Big Grin

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC possibilities - Relentless - 2013-02-28

Hi guys,
Just wanted to give input on my NUC. I have an Intel NUC i3 with the HD4000 and ethernet (DC3217IYE) which has a small Intel 525 SSD and 4Gb ram running the latest OpenElec RC3 with the XPerience+ skin. I stream videos from my QNAP NAS over ethernet. I also use the Pulse Eight CEC adapter so I can use the remote from my Panasonic plasma.

Everything works really well. Boot times are super fast (<10sec) compared with my old Revo R3610 and after helping debug the OpenElec RC2 Intel graphics problems OpenElec RC3 is working flawlessly. The i3 with SSD makes the skin really smooth and the HD4000 doesn't have any problems with high bitrate stuff. I have tested the 'bird scene' from BBC Planet Earth 1080p and have no frame drops even when peaking over 40Mbit/s and video looks really good (subjectively) - during that playback max cpu on all cores is just over 10%

The box does get pretty hot but I guess it is designed for that and I cannot hear any fan noise from the box which is placed behind my TV and is completely invisible. I have the bios setup to turn on when the power is restored and have a master-slave power board which completely turns off the NUC when the TV is turned off. This seems to be girl friendly as I have been away and my girlfriend can get her BBC world news livestream running without me easily.

A nice box.

Nice mini-review Relentless Smile

I've been using various Asrock ION boxes over the years but the fan noise is starting to annoy me. I'm sold on the NUC, I'll order one come pay day.

Anyone used a fanless/heatsink case for the NUC? I'm particularly interested in this one:

http://www.fanlesstech.com/ has some other fanless NUC offerings if anyone is interested.

This is interesting, do you mind linking to the board you use? Thanks.

No worries. I am using an Australian socket version of this:

TV is master. The NUC, my preamp and amplifier are all slaves.

Nod That looks great! I'll probably buy a couple of these when I'm ready (2-3months) or possibly this: Silverstone NUC Fanless

The NUC+Linux might be different, but what shown on my screenshot works fine w/ Frodo and Windows 7. My setups are HDMI from Intel i7 w/ HD4000 iGPU, discrete Nvidia GT545 and discrete AMD HD5570 to HDMI on several LED TV's, and they all works the same way.......

It will be a very nice fanless NUC....

How about this NUC enclosure by Tranquil?

These all need an internal IR receiver Smile.

I love the Tranquil case but not about to pay nearly $200 US for it

I setup my celeron NUC today. Brief impressions using openELEC installed on a flash drive with 4gb of ram. It's fast. It plays straight bd rips over gbit Ethernet with no problem. Aeon NOX runs smooth. I'll try XBMCbuntu soon.
