u need a version with pvr api 1.5. for me 12-10-10 works well. and 12-10-11 also.

the api is integrated in xbmc builds. so when you install the newest nightly you get the latest api.

the PVR API is the interface that the PVR addons use to communicate with XBMC. In order to run a PVR addon with XBMC both have to support/talk the same API version. In the last days, the API in XBMC has been extended by quite some functionality and now addons have to catch up to support the new interface methods. API v1.5 f.e. added timeshift to the API (pause and seek streams) - so ALL backends need to implement the new API calls in their interface now to work with latest XBMC builds even if they don't support timeshift (they then just report "sorry, can't do" - but they have to report).

It seems i didn't do the install properly so i have uninstalled/reinstalled xbmc frodo + dvbviewer plugin , it's better now
what should be fixed imo:
- default channels group in Live tv: all tv channels (always displayed first we can't change it to another group)
- import from favorites(dvbviewer) not working (unless i missed something)
- not all tv logos displayed
- recording (still don't work unless i missed something)
- In the EPG timeline, Programme Info > the buttons OK /switch should be exchanged so we can press "switch" to watch tv (not record) by default

Many thanks for your add-on, work perfectly with PVR api 1.5.0, today build of xbmc (XBMCSetup-20121010-8756dfb-master) and Dvbviewer recording service 1.21.2.0 (+Hadu).

The RS API doesn't provide the logos names. Lars_MQ has been asked many times to add it but, until now, all requests to improve the API have been ignored so I'm not going to waste my time asking it again. The only workaround is to rename your logos pngs to exactly match the channel name.

Hadu can load automatically when we start Dvbviewer, but it seems that Hadu can't start for the recording service ?
Could you please advice how to use Hadu for recording service?

you have to create a new folder "plugins1" in "dvbviewer\plugins". put your hadu addon in this folder and xbmc should get rs+hadu. i tested with vplug and it works.

HI there,
did what you recommended - vplug seems to work, but only on non-HD channels - for HD it freezes (XBMC playback) and then stops after a couple of seconds.

i have not tested with encrypted HD channel for the moment but work perfect with encrypted SD channels. Only one problem for me : changing channel is very long..... but i've heard it's normal with dvbviewer pluginRE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - Nimo - 2012-10-13
yes also changing sd channels without encryption take 5 seconds. but direct in dvbviewer it switches instant. if youre a hardcore zapper you will cry
i can live with long delays.

regarding channel switching performance I guess there is no other way as the dvb recording service is using http streams, whereas other addons/plugins kind of directly connect (e.g. 4therecord).
So I think this will never change with this pvr addon - anyways - as long as you just watch a simple movie or sports event it doesn´t matter ...

That delay is normal if you use that xbmc plugin via http stream.
I think that we need little miracle and support to recording service unicast devices, that http stream can't never replace dvbviewer clients. Now xbmc+dvbv combination via eventghost is much better choice for windows pc.
