RE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - h3llsp4wn - 2012-11-18

Just some feedback on latest beta - I get stuttering and stopping playback - sometimes with buffering display - sometime even without - happens somewhere after 10 minutes on every channel. Not sure whether it is frodo or addon related - havenĀ“t had these issues before.

RE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - IanSav - 2012-11-18

Hi,

I am using OpenELEC version r12493 on a Raspberry Pi with DVBViewer Recording Service 1.22.0.0. I keep getting the following error in the XBMC.log file:
Quote:ERROR: PVR - Add-on 'unknown' is using an incompatible api version. Please contact the developer of this add-on: jdembski, A600
Enabling this addon no longer works to provide access to the DVBViewer service and makes XBMC very unstable and usually results in frequent crashes and restarts. Disabling the add-on appears to restore stability.

This add-on last worked for me on the r12350 alpha build. It appeared to be working very well with that build.

Regards,
Ian.

Hi,

Great plugin!

Im getting the same entry as Ian:
Quote:ERROR: PVR - Add-on 'unknown' is using an incompatible api version. Please contact the developer of this add-on: jdembski, A600.
I also notice the crashing when the plugin is enabled.

I tried with the "Official" beta and the nightly build from 18/11 of XBMC but with same result. My setup is DVBViewer Recording Service 1.22.0.0 and XBMC is installed on Win7 (64bit).

@omnium: Could you try this version and see if it solves your problem with instant recordings?

About the problems with random hangs with channel switches: I'll change the way they're handled; it should solve the issues.

About the latest XBMC build: I tried the latest nightly windows build and it's working properly here. Just to be sure, delete the addon and install the zip from the first page (it was updated some days ago so re-download it)

RE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - IanSav - 2012-11-19

Hi A600,

The "update", "uninstall" and "Rollback" options for this add-on are all grayed out and unavailable on the Raspberry Pi. I deleted the program files and reinstalled the add-on from a fresh download. This didn't change anything. XBMC still crashes and the add-on doesn't work. Tryning to watch TV in XBMC simply indicates that "No PVR clients have started yet. Please wait for the PVR...".

Regards,
Ian.

RE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - ferl13 - 2012-11-19

The plugin hangs for me too with the same behavior (jump back to pvr site and displays working) after a few channel switches, but only if i perform the change from the PVROSDChannels window. When i go back to the main PVR site or in the epg timeline and change a channel then it works flawlessly.

Post the second line of the XBMC log (the one that shows the XBMC version)

Hi A600,

At the time of the report the version was:
Quote:NOTICE: Starting XBMC (12.0-BETA1 Git:25bb46a), Platform: Linux (OpenELEC - Version: devel-20121117112034-r12493, 3.6.6 armv6l). Built on Nov 15 2012
It is now:
Quote:NOTICE: Starting XBMC (12.0-BETA1 Git:25bb46a), Platform: Linux (OpenELEC - Version: devel-20121118220355-r12500, 3.6.7 armv6l). Built on Nov 18 2012
Is that the line you meant?

Ian.

I've got a dummy channel at number '0' in DVBViewer so that BBC One is at 1. But in XBMC channel numbers start at 1 so BBC One is at 2.

You can create a custom favourites.xml and use it with XBMC:

- Make a backup of your favourites.xml.
- Delete the first entry (the dummy channel) and save it.
- Copy the favourites.xml to something like bbc.xml, load it with the addon and reset the PVR database.

The git revision seems recent enough so I have no clue why it complains about the api version. Does the demo.pvr included with openelec work?

A600, any idea why I might be getting errors like these in my xbmc.log, even though port 8089 isn't firewalled and I can access the URL in the logs perfectly fine inside a browser?

Yes, the demo PVR client appears to be working fine.

RE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - ventolin - 2012-11-20

OK, sorry, I was doing something incredibly stupid in that I'd forgotten I had a proxy enabled in XBMC. (It might be an idea to allow the user to configure whether or not to use the XBMC proxy, if the XBMC api allows this, since most people will be connecting to a dvbviewer instance on their LAN)

With it disabled, however, I get the following error:

Code:
01:02:28 T:8408   ERROR: AddOnLog: DVBViewer Client: Dvb::GetDeviceInfo - Recording Service version 1.21 or higher required

This is even though I've got 1.6.5.2 beta running (the very newest, according to http://en.dvbviewer.tv/wiki/DVB_Recording_Service_ChangeLog ).

RE: [Release] DVBViewer Recording Service PVR - IanSav - 2012-11-20

Hi A600,

Sorry, there is one minor error with the demo PVR client:
Code:
ERROR: Texture manager unable to load file: /usr/share/xbmc/addons/pvr.demo/icon.png
This file does not actually exist.

Regards,
Ian.
