See for example, how in place of accented chars, Cyrillic ones are shown instead.

The issue is observed everywhere across the Live TV feature. Not just the channel names, but also summaries. Everywhere accented chars become Cyrillic.

Since you're using favourites please also provide your favourites.xml (http://$RS_HOST:8089/api/getfavourites.html). Because the channel name in favourites list takes precedence over the name in the complete channels list.

Edit: Or just provide me with an EPG dump of one of the channels.

Please mind the DVBV developer has answered quite comprehensively to this issue, so probably there's no need for you to spend more time into this.

Would request for your kind attention though on one more remaining issue, which has impeded my project to upgrade to Gotham altogether. Had described it in more detail here. If it's not in your control, hope at least you could escalate it internally to get it fixed for Helix.

Since a bug report already exist, best is to open up a pull request so it gets even more attention. However I have no karma about what gets into Kodi base system.

Cannot connect to dvbviewer... - blion - 2014-11-22

Hi guys some help needed. Been using both Dvbviewer and XBMC for a while but recently wanted to use the dvbviewer PVR add on. Have followed the instructions at (http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:DVBViewer_Client) over and over again but keep getting pop up saying "dvbviewer client connection lost" and "dvbviewer client unable to connect..."

I am trying it on the same machine where the recording service is installed and it seems quite simple, type in 127.0.0.1, the port (i use 50010), username and password. What am i doing wrong?!?!

FYI I am running windows 7 x64 and have latest recording service (1.30.1.0 (beta)), xbmc (13.2). Any help appreciated!!!!

Is there any solution to improve channel switching in Kodi connected with dvbviewer on win 8? At the moment it takes around 5-6 sec. I know that the margo software solve it a little bit but margo is for Gotham only.
Is there any way?

i'm running this setup since quite a long time now....
make sure to install and configure dvbviewer rs according to their forum..also make sure it's running (you see the symbol in the programm bar lower right bottem of windows)
then make sure to allow connections in your firewall
the pvr is simple, just enable it and configure with IP, user and pass....then start live tv..

can you login to dvbciewer wesite? (usually it is <http://IP of RS:8089>) if you can NOT login to this we bsite, then your rs does not work correctly..
(i'm using this way of watching tv when i'm on travel, have set up on my firewall a portforwarding with user authentication and can watch HD TV from wherever i am )

working on my main htpc xbmc 13.2 margo, several clients xbmc 13.2 margo and test system kodi beta 3, backend is "real" server

Thanks mate. I can login to the dvbviewer website both via intranet and internet so i am pretty sure its setup correctly. I can also stream live tv via intranet and also internet. I am trying to install the pvr client on the same machine i have installed the recording service so as you say should be pretty easy to setup. I am just a bit stumped at what the issue could be....

The one which is coming with the Kodi build itself is the latest one?

I'm using Kodi built-in version without any issue.
I guess this is the latest version of dvbviewer addon because there is no new commits on manuelm's git
since 1 may 2014. The only one change is version bump to match api version bump.

just a short question. Is there support for transcoding, when using the Recordingservice together with XBMC?

I'm thinking bout using it as a Backend for my FireTV (if transcoding is supported), cause the FireTV is not able to deinterlace any 1080i stream I have.

Any Information or hint would be great.

Using this plugin alot, but with kodi beta and rc1 i cannot get dvb subtitles anymore, using dvbviewer itself it give me the subs, but whene i use kodi with dvbviewer plugin it dont show any subs.

it says there is a dutch stream but is not showig any.
