Hi, my setup is the following: desktop where all the files are stored and laptop connected to the tv where xbmc runs.
I use this setup for about 2 years now and don't had any big problems.
My files on my desktop are organized in folders (music, movies, series etc...) and are all working fine in xbmc on the laptop.
The problem i ran into is when i tried to add a new folder to the music.
I picked 'add source/location', 'windows smb', xbmc works a little en after a few seconds only the root of the laptop shows up and nothing from the desktop but
i know it's there; otherwise my other files on the desktop would'nt play right? Also the network is fully accessible trough windows explorer also.
Is it some config problem i face or something bigger?
Addon: to make memore crazy; i tried to add the adress manual (smb://desktop/foldername) and it shows up fine...

Have you tried manually adding the share by typing in the network path in the add source dialog?
Edit: Now you've added it manually and it shows up fine is it functioning ok?

yes, since i entered it manually it's ok but it's still a weird problem no?
