Dealing with a cable box - spareshirt - 2012-10-14 Hi, Now, this may have been dealt with, but I can't seem to find it. Has anyone developed an xbmc system including "google tv" style control for a cable or satellite box? Even if experimental, I would be really fascinated to know if someone has developed an hdmi in/hdmi out system, that includes the ability to navigate your set top box's offering via xbmc a la google tv. Why, you ask? I love the fact that you can be watching a locally stored version of say, Parks and Recreation, and the box can suggest that Modern Family is due to start on Sky 1 in 10 minutes. There is a lot of "cut the cord", "don't pay for cable" talk in the States, but in the UK, if you like sports or US shows, you pretty much need a premium tv subscription, but love the idea of one box bringing it all together. I'm guessing the answer is no, so I look forward to the final ARM release and the ability to buy a google tv box that brings xbmc and premium cable together! Thanks, Nick |
