There are new settings and looks like its try to search value(number), but finds word.
Open plugins settings and press ok. You don't have to change anything.

Would it be possible to get the live channels mapped individually as favorites? Also a nice feature would be to get only the newest episode of the News/Sportnews.. or is it possible to somehow make a one click 'link' to open, lets say, the newest urheiluruutu?
Currently using Aeon Nox 4 and it would make a damn good 'icon panel' thing

I was bored so I did some playing around with YLE Areena and found what seems to be an RSS based API, including raw HTTP streams for all programs, including all live streams. Using this API would eliminate the need for RTMP and flowplayer.swf hackery.
There are two main end-points for this API:
http://yleappfeeds-v2.mfabrik.mobi/w/areenang/GetCategories.rss
http://yleappfeeds-v2.mfabrik.mobi/w/areenang/GetItems.rss
Each <channel> tag in GetCategories.rss contains an ID. This ID can be passed as a parameter to GetItems.rss to retrieve the actual items (requesting GetItems.rss just gives the latest clips available). For example, the items for live TV channels are available from:
http://yleappfeeds-v2.mfabrik.mobi/w/areenang/GetItems.rss?category-id=9999&offset=0&order=latest
Note that you'll get an empty result set if you're not using a Finnish IP address.
Each of these items contain the URL to an M3U8 file, e.g. http://yletv-lh.akamaihd.net/i/yletv1hls_1@103188/master.m3u8. This file itself is a glorified playlist containing the different quality streams. The last one is the best available (704x396 at about 1 Mbit/s). For example, the live TV1 feed is available at http://yletv-lh.akamaihd.net/i/yletv1hls_1@103188/index_1_av-b.m3u8?sd=10&rebase=on.
Basically it's the same system SVT uses for its SVT Play functionality, although unlike them YLE doesn't have HD streams (yet).
Let's hope someone finds this useful.

I don't use it very often but when yesterday I tried to watch a couple of programs in the 'recent list' it returned a plugin error.
Plugin should be up-to-date.
Ruutu.fi and YleAreena work just fine.

I was wondering what might be wrong in my case with Yle Areena plugin on Raspberry Pi. I get the menu where are all the categories but script fails when I try to select any of them. I have tried on Raspbmc and XBian and neither is working. OpenELEC is out of question since it is missing apt-get which I need. I have installed python-crypto, python-feedparser and rtmpdump since someone said that it might help. Ruutu is working fine.

If I have to guess something...
Is your rtmpdump 2.4 or newer?
You should check this: http://www.raspbmc.com/wiki/user/setting-up-rtmpdump/
YLE-dl needs rtmpdump (version 2.4 or newer), and pycrypto.

You could also provide logs to see if that is the case.
