if you're using Confluence: skin.confluence/720p/script-cu-lrclyrics-main.xml

Thanks for the tip, ronie, now I have lyrics displaying the way I want them to display! Just have to remember to go an update that XML file after every skin update. :-)

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - Gade - 2017-01-04

Thanks guys, for all the work you have put into this add-on the last couple of months!

It takes lyrics for Kodi to the next level Wink

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - gabaod11 - 2017-01-05

So I apologize if this has been answered before. But is there any way to have this addon Choose a different album title than how its named? Or if I rename the album to what I want it to search for, will the track titles also have to be renamed appropriately?

Why I ask is.. Nine Inch Nails recently came out with a mostly instrumental version of the Fragiles, and it would be nice to have this addon use the original The Fragile album to gather lyric info to make it like karoake Wink

* ahh nm I find I can just edit the properties of each track to rename it right id tags etc.. but now I have a question is there a way to set a delay on the lyrics? As it seems to be off by like 10 seconds. I know with movies you can change subtitle delay but cant seem to find that for the lyrics.

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - ronie - 2017-01-05

it's something i'm currently working on:
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=147340&pid=2488131#pid2488131

you can expect this functionality in the cu lrc version for kodi krypton.

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - gabaod11 - 2017-01-05

hah guess I should have scrolled back a little bit. nice work.

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - turtlel0rd - 2017-01-06

Hello everyone,

I need some pointers as to why the addon isn't fetching any lyrics on my minix/android living room TV.
Have tried on Win PC, Android tablets and my phone and the lyrics get fetched. However, on the main android box in the living room I have no luck.
I erased my logs prior to replicating the issues so as to minimise "noise".
Tried fetching lyrics with half a dozen songs that do get fetched on my other devices.

Any pointers would be appreciated.
Log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/23749196/

Steps tried:
1) Uninstall and re-install
2) Clean install
3) Experimented with various song title formats
2) Clean install

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - ronie - 2017-01-06

cu lrcs tries to retrieve the artist/songtitle from the id3 tags
do your mp3 files contain id3 tags for artist and songtitle?

in case cu lrc can't find those tags, it will try to guess the artist name and songtitle from the filename.
for this to work, you need to go to the addon settings and select a 'filename format' that exactly matches what you're using.

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - turtlel0rd - 2017-01-06

First of all huge thanks for taking the time to do this. It ain't easy and I appreciate it.
Now, on the topic in hand, I understand this and made sure I use the "Default Settings" of the addon on all devices running Kodi 16.1
So if the issue was with either id3's or filenames then the addon should fail across devices and installations. However, on all songs tried here, the other installs (Nexus 7, Samsung Galazy 7 and Huawei Honor 7) the addon works.
Which is why I'm turning to the community for help.

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - ronie - 2017-01-06

do your other devices also use upnp to play music?
perhaps that is causing some issues...

if i look at the log, the Groove Armada songs seem to tagged correctly:

but for some reason cu lrc get's the songtitle wrong:
Quote:00:03:04 T:1845384832 DEBUG: script.cu.lrclyrics: Current Song: Groove Armada - 06-groove_armada-my_friend.mp3
(it searches for 'Artist - Filename' instead of 'Artist - Songtitle')
i can't really explain that i'm afraid.

as for the other songs in your log, they dn't look correctly tagged to me

both are missing the artist tag, and have either the artist name or album name in the song title field.
frankly, i'd be surprised if those work on your other systems :-)

if you switch to the fullscreen vizualisation window in kodi during playback,
do the artist name and song title display correctly?
or does it display the filename for some of them?

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - turtlel0rd - 2017-01-06

I think you might be on to something as some devices use uPNP and others use SMB.
As for the difficult songs they definitely get found. It's kinda late here but I will come back with logs and screens from both the working one as well as the problem one.
Did I say thank you?

UPDATE 1
Uploaded Nexus 7 screenshots and log to facilitate comparison.
- Log: https://paste.ubuntu.com/23750936/
- Screens: http://m.imgur.com/a/oZkuO

Also, to your question, it almost always displays the filename, AFAIK

UPDATE 2
Uploaded Win 7 PC screenshots and logs
- Log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/23751402/
- Screens: http://imgur.com/a/vYZCU

UPDATE 3
Can confirm all units use SMB to access the Music folder on my main PC.

Ok, you just opened Pandora's box Laugh Just kidding, the script works very well. There's something in my mind though that I would like to know your opinion about whether it could be an interesting feature or not. You know that many file lyrics contain lines that don't belong to the song. I try to filter at least some of them at the skin level (I did warn you I was picky ;-)...) with a visibility condition like this:

Code:
<visible>!String.Contains(Container(110).ListItem.Label,@) + !String.Contains(Container(110).ListItem.Label,chorus) + !String.Contains(Container(110).ListItem.Label,lrc) + !String.Contains(Container(110).ListItem.Label,lyric) + !String.Contains(Container(110).ListItem.Label,qq) + !String.Contains(Container(110).ListItem.Label,www)</visible>

Do you think that could be achieved at the script level, maybe offering the user in the config addon and option to enter a list of strings so that those lines would not be shown? Or maybe is a bit over-the-top? What do you think?

Thanks!

RE: CU LRC Lyrics - horstepipe - 2017-01-12

hey
first of all, thank you very much for the continuing work on this great addon.
I'm having a problem, unfortunately I don't know if this is caused by
- Kodi itself
- the skin (Aeon Nox Silvo Mod)
- the way I play music (streaming via Airplay from my IOS devices)

So I start a song on my iPhone (IOS 10) and everything is fine in Kodi (Kodi 16.1, Windows 10).
The song plays and the lyrics pop up, fine.
But when the next song starts (or I skip to another song) the lyrics window of the first song stays on screen. So I manually have to press backspace to get rid of the old lyrics and press the lyrics button to get the new ones.

Do you know if this is a common restriction when using Airplay? The new song information (title, runtime etc. ) are being refreshed fine in Kodi.

Best regards

Yep - would love the ability to filter the crap out of downloaded lyrics with a list of "words/phrases" to be "blanked"

i don't think that will be really hard to implement. i'll add it to my todo list. ;-)
