and my post #478

i bought my one at http://www.myhdplayer.de/ as i live in germany

my conclusion so far is that it's sometimes is a little slow reacting to my keyboard entries or when i switch between full screen and channel list in DVB Viewer PVR plugin.
also at HD 1080i/p sometimes the xbmc has a little "stuttering" but movies streamed from my nas are fine

br
snoopy78

Thanks, snoopy78. I live in Germany, too. I saw the offer from myhdplayer on ebay, but read some good reviews about chinavasion and chatted with their support staff. So I think it's safe to order there.
The "stuttering" maybe frame rate judder, or do you think it's not related to 24p vs. your tv's frame rate? What keyboard do you use? I want to order an air mouse at chinavasion together with the unbranded atv1200.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - snoopy78 - 2013-04-30

my "tv" is a lg pa70g projector running at 720p.. the same issue is happening when connecting my philips 21:9 tv to the box...
when running xbmc at the same time at an other machine i can see that the stream doesn't stutter.. so it's related to the box.. but i don't know if it's the firmware or xbmc..

currently i do use a rii mini wireless keyboard but i already ordered a air mouse rc11 in asia...

actually i was thinking about buying in china too (my wife was in china at the time so she could have brought it) but i wasn't sure about if it fits my demand so i ordered it here to have the possibility to return it...
so currently for me it's ok... except the pvr..which i find annoying...it just happend at the CL game... which freaked me out!

I am having problem on playing .rvmb file on my ATV1200 box. Any suggestion ?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - thebearnecessit - 2013-05-02

everything was fine using hdmi, but the speakers on my tv are a bit crap.

so ive tried getting the sound through my HiFi by plugging RCA cables from the atv1200 to my HiFi.

there's no sound coming through at all on the HiFi, is it supposed to just work automatically straight away , or is there some android or xbmc setting that I am supposed to change?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - michael123 - 2013-05-04

Cheap ATV1200 here if you're in the UK. It's about 30% less than any other seller I've seen and cheaper than most Chinese imports, from a high feedback seller and is a branded sumvision so better than a random generic (warranty wise).

Comfirms it's running the M6 on this page:

Have you tried to change output device in the device settings? By default it outputs sound to hdmi and if you wand to output it to digital output you have to make changes in the settings.

Bear,
I am in the process of a relocation so today i got to play a little with it in to a tv and found a bit like your problem..

its an older tv..
so no HDMI in only CBV inputs (HDTV) - Picture is 1080p 60Mhz - working well..
but no sound.. and can not change with in sound settings..
But..

I tried a HDMI to VGA passthrough box I have got..(I use it with the TF-001 for presentations out to Projectors)
I am getting shitty HDMI\VGA reception in to TV and no sound..

But dam.. going back to CBV output to TV..
With HDMI still plugged into the passthrough box..
and AVI cables out of passthrough box in to TV.. I am getting sound..
(hope that makes sense)

My Rom seems to only be able to play HDMI sound outputs at the moment..
I am going to be a few weeks before I settle in to the new place, so wont be able to test further.
Just glad I got some picture and sounds via this workaround for the next week as I live among packing box's.

Just out of curiosity, why would you run a build which uses an external player to hardware decode? When the beauty of these amlogic chip based devices, like the atv1200, is that there is hardware acceleration support in the official Geniatech and Pivos builds?

Hello to all I've intention to buy an ATV1200 but I've doubts on media compatibility, I've a Western Digital Live Hub that doesn't read practically nothing!

For example ATV1200 could read a file similar as this?

Code:
General

This is practically unsplecable... it seems a normal H24/AVC file to me!
Nevertheless WD Live Hub says it is not supported and I needed to recompress it...3

Have you encountered file as these? Are they read by ATV1200?

Thanks!

PS. What's the difference between ATV1200 and ATV520? Apart for design I cannot see anyone... I'm safe to buy 520? It cost 20 € less...

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - chatv1200 - 2013-05-09

Hello,

I have problem to shut off the atv1200. When I use the button on the IR remote it completely shut off the device and even the button on the device ins't able to put it on : I have to unplug and replug the power to reboot.
The button on the front works as a reset when the device is on : it simply reboot...
I have this behavior with original firmware (20 03 2013) and also with the last one on mygica.es 26 04 2013. I don't know if with a 2.5ghz remote it is different, I buy the device from mixeshop because they advertise that it is shipped with a "2.4ghz remote with keyboard" but it is only the IR remote, and they don't answer to any of my mail : avoid such reseller...
I found a workaround with this apps :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&hl=fr
It bring a soft button that put the device off with the red light on, and the button on the front is able to reboot it. I think the appli is able to put the device in standby mode, but the off mode is what I'm searching for, so I haven't test it yet.
It will allow me to wait for a firmware which may correct this bug.

hope this helps

Mine just updated

Kernel 20130506
Build 20130506
Recovery 20130510
Uboot 20130510

Model mX enjoy tv

It wiped settings but seems to come with its own copy of XBMC already installed

Xbmc build mar 30 2013

Works fine so far. Hopefully it fixes Ethernet bugs

Using audio offset ahead 0.250 in xbmc with some videos (1080p films don't seem to need it)
