Could be my imagination, but last time I checked the logcat after a ethernet drop and I noticed an apavhe error. Since then I've disabled the web remote in xbmc (which runs on apache I believe) and I believe I haven't seen a ethernet drop since. Help me test this theory?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - theINSKIP - 2013-05-29

I have been trying all the instructions given here (http://www.futeko.com/forum/index.php?mode=thread&id=6373) to try and fix this ethernet problem.

It has improved the play back greatly, but i still get the issue of it dropping out. But at least with the scripts provided, i do not have to exit XBMC and i can just hit resume.

I will try turning the web remote off tonight.

Is the web remote different to the iphone remote app?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - D-Dragon - 2013-05-29

I believe the remote app uses the web remote (but it could be that the ios app uses airplay or upnp for that). Don't have an apple product though so can't be sure.

Edit : thanks for the link to the scripts though Smile much appreciated.

Has anyone else had issues with slightly out of sync sound with the box?

It's probably not even a full second out, but just enough for me to notice and drive me insane.

I'm on the latest version with Pivox XBMC and connected over ehternet.

You can set a default audio delay in the sound settings in the osd during playback. E. G. my receiver has a delay of about 100ms, so I set the audio to be ahead by 100ms then I select the bottom menu item called "set as default for all videos". And you're done.

is it possible to root this devic eor get some kind of root access?

im trying to add a file into /syste/usr/keylayout to change what the backspace key does in xbmc.

ive tried using ssh and i get connected to the box fine, but i can't change permissions on the folder.

anyone know how to change the permissions on a system folder?

The geniatech firmware is rooted by default

has anyone some experience with the xbmc-XIOS-051013-version?
Or would recommend using the old xbmc-XIOS-012913?

I'm using the latest version and so far no problems (I did not notice many changes. Maybe better go rewind and forward).

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - thebearnecessit - 2013-06-01

FIX FOR THE ISSUE SOME WERE HAVING WITH HAVING XBMC AUTO_START WITH STARTUP MANGER APPS:

if anyone is still having problems trying to get xbmc to launch when the box boots up, the read on.

the problem only effected some users and the problem was that when xbmc was added to any startup ap like Startup Manager" it launched but launched without any skin changs/configs/settings that had been made previously.

to get xbmc to launch on startup without any issues, get an app called "AutomateIt-Automate Your Droid". then add a new rule as follows:

trigger = boot
action = launch app (xbmc)
rule = delay the launch by 10 seconds

the box will then launch xbmc 10 seconds after boot. i haven't experimented with shorter times yet so give it a go.

somehow the delay in launching xbmc allows it to launch without the previous problems.

I use root explorer to do this..just go into the file you want to change and it will give you options to do it...but also need to change the directory into R/W..that is done at the top of the screen..
But ..
There is a problem with the way Geniatech has got the rom setup..in that when it reboots the dam permissions change back..

I found this out the hard way as to use openvpn I have to give r/w permissions to tun..

I would say there is a script that would get around this..or someone a little smarter then me might know which file command and where we put it that would allow us to have true ability to hack this.
