Hi Guys,

Here is Geniatech android 4.2 demo firmware version, perhaps you have interest on it.

This is instruction: How to upgrade from android 4.1 to 4.2 demo version on Geniatech MX box.pdf

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - rl4engx - 2013-06-28

I get 404, too much traffic? Regardless, it's good to see a manufacturer actively supporting and releasing source/fixes for this awesome box, quite refreshing in this day in age!

<cough>Allwinner!</cough>

I can see this being the defacto xbmc android box in the not-too-distant future.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - rl4engx - 2013-06-28

Anybody NOT getting music stuttering on Geniatech 20130610 firmware and Pivos nightly xbmc? It's unusable for music as it stands. Roughly every 5-10 seconds (but have had it every second), the music either skips about 0.1seconds, or inserts a similar amount of silence.

Edit: OK it only seems to skip with PAPlayer and AMLPlayer; DVDPlayer doesn't skip. Can change the playercorefactory.xml for now eh?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - thebearnecessit - 2013-06-28

as far as i know everyone is getting music stuttering with the xbmc apk's from both pivos and geniatech.

as far as i know the only way round it is to use the xbmc apk from mygica by downloading a zip file and getting the apk from inside the zip file.

but this mygica apk is not as good for other things like ff, rw, skiping etc in video files.

my hope is that the pivos one can be fixed, but i don't even know if pivos xios owners are getting this issue on their boxes, so therefore i don't even know if they are going to try and fix it or not.

If you select a track and use context menu, then 'play using' DVDPlayer, it loads quicker, no skip, but get this, it sounds way better too. Much more presence. I just need to figure out what to put in playercorefactory, can anyone assist? DVDPlayer for all audio.

EDIT: OK folks try this, I dunno what formats DVDPlayer can play but I know mp3's sound 1000% better on it and don't skip: Feel free to fix! I don't think dvdplayer supports crossfade tho.

I use the .apk that is included in the May update firmware. Music works PERFECTLY. As does everything else.

That's good, but a lot of people are running later builds, helps iron out issues.

I updated to android version 4.2 firmware (20130610) but XBMC no longer plays video properly. The audio plays but screen remains on menus.

PS The geniatech build is actually from 4/30/2013 (see the system info section in XBMC) as opposed to the PIVOS nightlies which at this moment the latest is from June 2013 code. The Pivos nightlies build is obviously newer.

In any case, XBMC video playback is broken with the latest android firmware on the ATV1200, so stay away from now. Has anyone else gotten XBMC video playback to work with the new firmware?

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - rl4engx - 2013-06-29

Also, just discovered iMediaShare, does this box get any better?! Smile Installed it from mobilism on the tablet, it detected ATV1200 straight away (even though wifi off) and can now throw HD content onto the pre-'smart' TV. Smile

Though Discovery didn't want to work somehow.

As soon as I can get it working with TV remote through HDMI-CEC that'll be the icing on a very good Android cake. Smile

nice one thanks for posting, but i just tried it and it crashes xbmc on my atv1200 when i try and play music form the last.fm addon.

i'll try it with some music from my library and see what happens, bed time now though.

is this an external player though? so do you lose some of the functionality whilst music is playing? or does xbmc just appear the same?
