RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - no8080 - 2014-01-24

I need to correct my earlier statement, audio passthrough on the coax is not working, it is only passing 2 channels, not DTS or DD.

I have set my audio settings to 5.1 and enabled audio passthrough, but it is not working now. Still no jumps or skips though.

Neil

OK, quick edit, the settings in my audio setup got messed up. All working again, just playing a 12GB 1080p DTS mkv file now, seems OK now.

I am getting a commoncache error on startup now though.

Hello

My ATV1200 was dead. Only black screen and red status light. I conected a TTL cable on serial port , on the terminal I only could see a message repeated over and over again:

EEEE I3000000032940xf3001003 03;77530EEEE I400000004294_M6_BL1_3003 >2137333EEEE I3000000032940xff00dead 16<22030EEEE I600000006294NO boot up device found 1286?1:2EEEE I500000005294enter serial boot 13549030

I wrote to geniatech and they give me this instructions and my atv is working again. I tried another bootcards before this but no one worked.
This may can help someone else:

Dear Sir

You have to make a boot card.

Please download the instruction and make a boot card as the instruction.

After doing 1-4 steps of the instruction, please download the files from below link and do as readme.

@no8080
I can not believe it. With me I get alwas buffering problems (movie stops) with large files played with XBMC.
(without problems with the MX player )

Did you configuriert the smb settings or something else?
Dit you use a special advancedsettings.xml ?

Hey kgonla

I had that exact same problem and it took me a few weeks to find those files online but eventually it was the only thing that worked

Nothing special at all.

I removed version 12.2, as it was a nightly build and I could not upgrade to gotham. I cleared the cache and then uninstalled v12.2, then installed gotham.

My android is unaltered, nothing setup and configured at all. I use the wired NIC, with DHCP.

Gotham is configured to use an SMB share for my TV and Movie directory, I had to perform a fresh scan and it works perfectly.

The nightly build 21/01 has shutdown issues again, not updated to a later version yet, but I have tried 4 different january nightlies, all work well.

Did you always get video stutter issues? It might be worth checking your duplex setting on your NIC, it might be a duplex mismatch between your android box and your network switch/hub. Try a local mkv file as well.

Neil

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - samot13 - 2014-01-29

@no8080
I have upgraded to the last nightly build (26.01.2014)
I use also a wired NIC with DHCP with following results:

A Local large 720p mkv file works well.
The same file from my Win7 Server works well if I open the file with the ES Explorer and choose then XBMC as player.
But If I open the same file under XBMC (add the Server with internal SMB) then the video stops every minute for buffering.

I have the same buffering problem with HD live TV. I use mediaportal as TV server) SD TV works fine.

If you managed to stream the file ok to the box, but XBMC can not stream it sucessfully then I would say you have an SMB or cache issue.

For note, Windows 7 and Server 2008 introduced SMB V2.1, Microsofts updates to SMB, which started in Vista with V2.0, V2.1 in windows 7 and V3.0 in windows 8 are riddled with performance issues when non windows hosts try to access a windows share over SMB.

I am not sure which version of SMB XBMC uses, but it sounds like it is causing issues for you. The following webpages lists the issue and the fixes might help.

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/3347eddf-e826-409c-972d-9587ac92d9f0/why-is-samba-performance-slow-with-windows-7?forum=w7itpronetworking

Basically windows as a SMB share server is a bad idea, either alter the SMB config in windows or use a non windows server to share the files, Windows 8 is not much better either.

RE: Geniatech ATV1200 and XBMC hardware decoding - Marty McFly - 2014-02-02

Hello

I've just bought an atv 1200, but I've a problem with the audio/video synchronization with all videos from USB external storage.

Audio is a little bit retarding and video goes a little bit clicking even if with low res videos.

Video clicking solved with VLC for android, but not the same for audio: always retarding a bit

Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2
Firmware version: 20133513

Any suggestion?
Thanks!

There are two days I've tried to find the answer in the last 115 pages, before writing my post, but I haven't found anything. Tried also to use the "search thread" function but non results..
It's strange because I don't use xbmc, for example, and my box is in the standard configuration.
The problem is always present, with all players...

Only I see I've a firmware version in it that maybe is the very last one (?). Can't find it in the thread...

And it happens with all video files, for example avi or mkv, with HDMI or CVBS at any resolution.

Sent a message to geniatech support...I hope they will answer.

Hello,

I just did a bootable card and been able to boot from my atv1200, but no matter witch spi+boot I install/update, it cannot run/boot to android, keeps booting into recovery "manual mode".

Any ideias?

Thanks in advance
