RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - VanZan - 2014-09-13

Why 2.1.3Huh

The latest is 2.2.0

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - caned_monkey - 2014-09-13

I got it from Super Repo so i assumed that was the newest. I'll give 2.2.0 a try, thanks.

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - VanZan - 2014-09-13

I'd advise you to stay away from Super Repo mate. A lot of the addon developers don't endorse it.

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - caned_monkey - 2014-09-13

OK, is there a repo you do recommend?

2.2.0 works fine btw Wink

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - VanZan - 2014-09-13

The repo the ITV Player is on is basically pure evil. I'll try to post a direct link like above with each new version. As for all the others you'll just have to get the repo for each individual addon you use and see for yourself.

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - simonind - 2014-09-25

I'm getting the problem where age restricted programs, e.g. 'Slaying the Badger' aren't showing up on the list in XBMC, any ideas on how to fix it? I'm using 2.2.0

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - vijayk416 - 2014-10-20

Anyone having issues with 2.2.1?

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - VanZan - 2014-10-27

They've done some rearranging but here is the link to the latest version 2.2.1:

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - usinspain - 2014-11-05

I am on Frodo 12.3 my ITV has just updated to 2.2.1 getting SCRIPT FAILED PLUGIN VIDEO ERROR any suggestions Huh?

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - sqig - 2014-11-05

2.2.1 working for me from Spain using a smart dns. Both live and catchup work well.
I got it from the repo of pure evil as per VanZan.

@ VanZan - Thankyou ;o)

@anyone else, any thoughts on stability of this addon with RaspBMC ? Is it stable for others (2.2.1) as I keep getting system reboots on a model B 512MB ram rpi.

Edit:
Nothing like an addon crashing forcing a reboot then a RaspBMC update including kernel to hose a perfectly working rpi setup :o(

I could throw my toys out the pram, or I could accept it and appreciate the time people spend coding for no reward... think it will be the latter, thanks.

@ wellen1981

I have been using this plugin (2.2.1) on my Model B RPi with OpenELEC 4.2.1 and it works great about 90% of the time (about 10% of the time, I experience long delays when opening a stream, then XBMC restarts (the OS does not reboot the RPi), after XBMC restarts, I try to open the same stream, and it works fine (on the 2nd or 3rd attempt).

I am also using UnoTelly SmartDNS to access ITV streams in Canada with a stable broadband (cable) internet provider.

I was considering reporting this to the plugin developer on his own forum (http://www.xunitytalk.com/showthread.php?3384-RELEASE-Itv-Player) but I'm not sure how to capture or log this event to isolate the issue (the plugin, the hardware/OS, the ITV/content provider or DNS/Internet providers)?

I'm sure he (http://www.xunitytalk.com/member.php?522-Mikey1234) would respond to this issue (on his own forum) as he appears to be an active and responsive developer in the XBMC community (specifically with plugins for both the ITV Player and BBC iPlayer).

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. It is a bit hit and miss I am finding but yeah, about same as you 1 in 10 times it goes wrong but after trying again it works - I don't feel like hassling the creator as 90% is good enough I guess.

Off-topic but I will mention in case anyone else got stung by this - my RaspBMC update that bricked my rPi... Sam's October RaspBMC update has done a number on many peoples installs.

The issue is relating to the UUID and on my USB stick install I had to remove the sd card from my Pi and edit the cmdline.txt from...
root=UUID=5ad71afc-4d01-4972-a8ae-f51ed8c62f95
to
root=/dev/sda1

Saved me having to do a complete start from scratch on my Pi

back on topic - I wonder why ITV dont have HD content online...

It may be an out-of-memory error (can be confirmed by ssh-ing in and running dmesg after the crash).
Probably due to too high a cachemembuffer value. See: http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Modify_the_video_cache

popcornmix,

I will look into the HOW-TO and video cache settings this weekend...

I am using the following options in advancedsettings.xml

<advancedsettings>
<network>
<buffermode>1</buffermode>
<cachemembuffersize>0</cachemembuffersize>
<readbufferfactor>4.0</readbufferfactor>
</network>
</advancedsettings>

No more issues with ITV streams or XBMC restarts.

Thanks (again).
