Mikey any chance you could (easily) add the live streams at:

http://www.itv.com/itv/

I honestly don't know if it's a large undertaking or not.

Vanzan you have expat and FilmOn and not FilmOn and myiplayer and you want another way to stream itv lol

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - privado - 2013-03-24

TBH the streams are far superior on the ITV website, no chance of them being closed down and also have itv 2 3 and 4. Been hoping the live streams would be added like the BBC addon.

Isn't expat missing ITV3? I thought FilmOn and NotFilmOn were dead when the FilmOn website got a legal judgment against them. Not sure about myiplayer....last I looked it was empty folder after empty folder for me!

And now to open myself up to abuse and ask, which I'm sure is probably a stupid question...

I am using Cyberduck to SSH into my ATV2.

I keep seeing posts about overwriting my default.py..... I've looked, but where the hell do I find itHuh!

Sorry for being a tool...Blush

I believe Demand 5 uses some DRM rubbish that isn't supported by XBMC unfortunately. Mikey's good but he's not a miracle worker. Ironic that you can watch catchup from the major players such as BBC and ITV but not the broadcasting giant that is Channel 5!! Big Grin You'd think they'd be falling over themselves to get people watching their output.

Laugh ...I thought Mikey WAS a miracle worker Wink ... my comment was a little tongue in cheek, I'd read about the DRM... Is it something that XBMC may support in the future? Or would we need to wait for 5 to change their mind at their end again over how D5 works?

tbf its only my OCD (like someone else had said) wanting a 'full deck' of UK on demand services rather than an insatiable desire to watch Channel 5's output at my convenience Big Grin

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - dlake02 - 2013-03-27

Demand 5 is never going to work. I had a working addon for sometime, and then Demand 5 moved to Widevine DRM.

I think you should prepare for MORE DRM not less. All the broadcasters are under a lot of pressure to secure content to prevent piracy. Channel 5 shows a lot of imported programmes, especially from the US. Most of the US programme makers employ as many lawyers as they do producers....

This is not something that any open developer can deal with - even looking at a DRM trace can land you in trouble due to DMCA.

For the UK, YouView was designed as a semi-open platform for catch-up TV - they publish a spec that developers can build to but it is not for the open-source/amateur world. YouView has support for BBC, ITV, 4OD and Demand 5.

RE: [RELEASE] ITV Player 1.10 - richtoy - 2013-03-27

Hi,

Can you please add support for port 443 like Mossy has done in v3.0.10 of his 4OD player? It works like a charm with the vpn that I use.

Please see my posts and their responses here for an explanation.

Thanks,
Richard

Mikey1234 is taking over the repo, and has made quite a few changes to the code. I pulled the latest from his repo last night and did a quick-and-dirty hack to see if the streams worked over port 443.

Good news - they do !

It'll need a new menu option in the settings, but that isn't difficult. I'll have a go at this sometime in the next few days, but Mikey1234 is still working on adding ITV2 and ITV3 live streams. It would be better to include the port 443 workaround with the full update.
