RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - maeda - 2017-03-11

Ronie, ty for the addon, it's been joy to use it

I'm hoping someone can explain to me a few things.
The option 'scale images full screen', does it actually do anything when effect is set to pan&zoom?
my logic was that if 'scale images full screen' is on, it will respect the borders while doing pan&zoom, so it never shows black space.

I presume this addon only feeds default slideshow, but i just wanted to check, if i view images in default slideshow using pan&zoom, most of the time it starts with zooming, but
when i preview screensaver using pan&zoom most of the time it starts and use panning, resulting in black areas on the screen.
Is this just randomness of pan&zoom or screensaver has some effect on how pan&zoom is used/initiated?

tnx

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - maeda - 2017-03-14

Ok, i manged to slow down general pan&zoom with <panamount> & <zoomamount> in advancedsettings.
Ronie, can you tell me if Screensaver looks into advancedsettings.xml for those values? I don't see any changes

nope, those settings don't apply to the screensaver.

I see, thank you for the answer
If maybe other people would find this useful, would you consider it as a request feature at some point?
It could reduce black areas with option to slow down panning.

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - ronie - 2017-03-15

i'm not opposed to it...
if someone who's interested in this functionality would provide the necessary code i'll add it.

Photoshop File->Scripts->Image Process works great and it's easy to use.

If you have Photoshop - which is pretty expensive Smile If you want cheper way you can use freeware IrfanView which has bulk resize function.

Thanks guys, I'll have a look at those

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - GooseK - 2017-04-19

I second the use of Irfanview. It's free, but you do want to be careful with the settings. Under File, go to Batch Conversion/Rename and then click the Use Advanced Options and really look through the settings and make sure you've got things set the way you want before you write over a bunch of your files!

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - lobomarino - 2017-04-21

Hi there,

I use Kodi / Picture Slideshow Screensaver on Android on a Wetek Core and have the following problem. I searched the forum but couldn't find any solution.

Picture Slideshow Screensaver will not kick in if I pause a movie in full screen mode. Instead, the generic Google Slide show is started. Picture Slideshow Screensaver will only work if I go back to the Kodi movies list or menu.

This is unfortunate, as the screen saver will almost only be needed on a paused movie. If I am not watching a movie, I will generally switch off the TV.

Thanks and best regards,

Rob

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - AnthonyB - 2017-04-27

My photo collection often contains the same photos in both .JPG and .NEF (i.e.the RAW file) from my Nikon D7000 DSLR.
The .NEF files usually just show in a pixelated fashion.

Is the problem that Kodi (or the addon?) doesn't support the .NEF file format? or is it the size of the file (often around 20MB 4928x3264 resolution)?
I have installed the NEF codec onto my Windows PC running Kodi but it made no difference.

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - AnthonyB - 2017-04-29

A little more investigation into aforementioned issue.

.NEF files are Nikon's RAW file format (NEF = Nikon Electronic Format) and based on TIFF. Details on RAW files - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_image_format

Environment: Kodi 17.1 (Estuary Skin) running on Windows 10 x64 PC (Core i7, 16GB RAM). Picture Slideshow Screensaver Addon 4.2.1 from default repository.

So my assumption here is quite simply that FFmpeg used in Kodi (FFmpeg 3.1?) does not support .NEF file format. Does this look correct?

RE: [Release] Picture Slideshow Screensaver - Raytestrak - 2017-05-05

I've just moved to a Synology and it has the nasty habit of creating thumbs in my folder that I use a my screensaver, resulting in a really ugly slideshow. Is it possible to exclude folders (I know this has been asked before) or limit the slideshow to pictures of a minimum resolution?
