Play video files from usb flash - claudiuid - 2013-02-21

Hi

I have an jailbroken ipad2 with a camera connection kit and an usb flash drive.
I want to watch some movies (avi and mkv ) from the flash drive through camera connection kit.
I posted in all ipad related forums but no help received.
Is there anyway i can browse my flash drives from xbmc ?

Thx in advance
Claudiu

Remember to read this Wink All my thumb drives draw to much power Wink

There's a way around this. For some reason the iPad will complain about thumb drives needing too much power, but if you can get a cheap USB hub, the USB hub will report incorrect power usage to the iPad, and anything connected to the hub will work just fine, and nothing has any power issues. I have a small $2 hub I got off of dx.com that I use specifically to get around the power warning on the iPad.

The other way around this is to use the SD card adapter instead of the USB/flash drive. This has worked perfectly for me on every model, including the iPad 4, and 32GB SD cards have gotten pretty inexpensive. It's a lot less bulky than carrying around the hub, cable, and flash drive.
