Choppy playback with DTS-HD - VanillaXtract - 2013-02-22

I just bought a nettop with the following stats:
CPU: D525
GPU: ATI HD5430
chipset: Intel NM10 chipset
memory: 2x2GB DDR3
HDD: SP600 SSD
XBMC: XBMCbuntu wsnipex: 2:13.0~git20130213.2107-1d92d14-0quantal
receiver: Yamaha RX-V665

When I play a file with DTS-HD there is choppy playback. It is choppy to the point of it takes 5sec for 1sec of the movie to progress and is completely unwatchable. My receiver is HD Audio capable. If I disable DTS-HD in system settings and replay the file everything works just fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, I didn't check the wiki. I appreciate the link. Can you give me some advice? Should I just install windows if I want HD audio? Or is there a solution on the horizon for linux?

sooner or later AMD will probably fix this, but experience tells it will be later. If you just want to play HD audio, disable DTS-MA and TrueHD capable receiver and it will be transcoded to AC3.
Else, your only option atm is to install windows.

Shame you cant just ditch that for LPCM @192 kHz, Which I would challenge is better than any indestiguisable apparently form real HD.
Boy AMD really stuck it to the Linux users with only two real channels available.

You know I would Stick to Linux and hope just to stick it to The Gates fellow. But If HD is really that important get a Nvidia and stick it to ATI back. hehe

Im out before I cause a riot.

I'll just stick with Linux. Using Win7 and 8 causes my Harmony to not work correctly. However I bought a MC001-N which Linux doesn't support the ATSC tuner either and I can't change out the video card. But I'll stick with XBMCbuntu.
