XBMCbuntu Tearing or Studder, I get to choose which :-( Help me fix it! - mstang1988 - 2013-04-29 All, I spent the last two days trying to fix the tearing and studdering when using XBMCbuntu. Hardware: - Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz Dual Core - Asus Nvidia 620 2GB Videocard - P5W-DH Motherboard TV is KDL-46V4100 I'll get the exact model later but the TV is a Sony from 2007/2008 with 60Hz max. My Playstation 3 plays all of my videos with clean motion on this same TV but cannot seem to get that with the XBMC system. What I have done so far: - Updated to latest Nvidia drivers - Disabled compiz (Composite Environment) - Ensured vsync was clicked for Nvidia GPU - Ensured hardware Nvidia vdpau Enabled (tried with and without actually) - Tried sycning display with playback speed (tried with/without) - Enabled vsync to blank in XBMC and set it to Always enabled. This causes stuttering but fixes the tearing - Later tried enabling compiz and manually setting refresh rate to 120hz and changed then window mode Content - I've been trying to play things mostly with 24fps - Some things with a odd frame rate like 25fps (Like Pacific Rim Trailer) or some Dr Who episodes. Again the PS3 plays these perfectly. Is there anything else I can do to fix this? If not I'm probably giving up on XBMC. |
