blue dot unwatched content indicator disappeared - emmjea - 2013-05-24

Hello,

I have signed up as a newbie to ask some basic help which I can't seem to find by searching around for -/+ 30mins, so hoping there is a quick answer I am missing.

Running Apple TV 2 version 5.0.1 (4224) with XBMC Eden 11.0 playing files off a NAS box (seagate black amour)

Using Quartz skin

I know little about this, a friend set it up for me, but for a year now I just select files off NAS and new content had a blue dot next to it, a few days ago this just stopped happening - i.e. no more blue dot on unwatched files/shows

I did not change anything, or run any update etc

Any pointers as to how to get this blue dot back are much appreciated

Regards

See if you can get us a debug log (wiki).

sorry, assumed this was a simple setting and no log needed, just goes to show what they say about assumption being the mother of all ..... is true

here it is - http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=21912

as there is no specific error, I restarted then just went tot a folder that has some unwatched shows in it that used to have blue dots and dont any more, then stopped at this point and this is the log you see

thanks for the help

Can you upload another debug log with debugging turned on? Settings -> System -> Debugging -> Enable debug logging

Hmm, I was hoping to see some errors with the database that might explain this. Nothing stands out in the log.

You can try to repair settings permissions to see if that fixes it: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=XBMC_for_iOS_specific_FAQ#repair_settings

If it doesn't, try making another log, but have it play something so that it would mark something as watched. That might give us some additonal info.

Hi Ned, thanks for your time on this, as I said - I am a newbie, and did not set it up or install xbmc on it, so will have to spend some time researching how to root and ssh into the device, but once got that figured I will try what you suggested, and see what happens, just nervous of breaking the whole thing, so will have to weight it up !!

Thanks again

Ned,

Just some quick feedback - I was using the Quartz skin, just to try something easy I changed to Confluence, and this has ticks instead on "dots" - and they are back and working fine? Tried switching back to Quartz, but still no dots - so it works with Confluence skin, but not with Quartz ? Weird? not sure if that gives any ideas not involving detailed repairs, as it would seem to indicate a minor glitch?

Thanks
