RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - M4tt0 - 2014-08-31 Just following your instructions, with sudo adduser xbmc. I remember some dialogue (asking for phone numbers, etc). I left everything empty, except password and description I think. It also exists in /etc/passwd: xbmc:x:1001:1001:xbmc,,,:/home/xbmc:/bin/bash I'm sure I selected everyone in x11-common. Just did it again. Crosschecking /etc/X11/Xwrapper.conf: It contains allowed_users=anybody as well. Just did another reboot to be sure, but no change. Still just getting the shell login. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - fritsch - 2014-08-31 No idea. By any Chance encrypted home? That won't work. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - M4tt0 - 2014-08-31 No encrypted home either. *Aaaaaaargh* RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - fritsch - 2014-08-31 Change env user from xbmc to walter in the xbmc.conf last try. If that does not help: OpenELEC for you. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - M4tt0 - 2014-09-01 My unix times might have passed about 15 years ago, but I do not want to be sent back to pre-school yet.. I'm not sure what it was but changed two things: (1) I again(!) revisited all scripts letter by letter and found that in the .pkla script I missed an extra ".". (2) Looking at the xbmc.conf script in nano again I noticed that the file was in DOS format (before I copied from Firefox in my Win 8.1 system and then right-clicked the text into the putty session. I guess that was not ideal). Anyways, I deleted xbmc.conf and created it again with nano, adding all the text manually. Here we go. UP AND RUNNING!!! Good night and again, sincere THANKS for your support and your patience! M4tt0 RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - fritsch - 2014-09-01 Nice.yeah it most likely added a ^R vor something at the End. Please also revisit limits.conf besides that habe fun. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - stingray454 - 2014-09-01 the kodi nightly on the download page, its alpha4, but latest compile (1/9 -14) from your repo is alpha3, does these two have mysql incompabilitys in database? trying to setup a windows xbmc on a laptop but i want it to share watched episodes, but the windows one just dont want to use mysql db backend.. i probably should try to use the xbmc on the dl page for linux and just install alpha4 on both, but that one doesnt got support for vaapi hw, or does it? deinterlace isn't that important if i can get mysql part working.. thanks in advance.. edit: scrap this one.. got blind after reading same text over and over again.. was a typo in advancedsettings.xml.. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - tutu - 2014-09-01 I've installed the latest build via apt-get update/upgrade and my xbmc no longer switches refresh rate to 24 Hz. I have adjust display refresh rate to match video on/start stop. Was an x11 patch. Will be fine after next rebuild. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - ant_thomas - 2014-09-02 Just got a HP Chromebox to replace my Asus EB1037 since I can't get the nvidia graphics working. Yadif "Deinterlace" is unsurprisingly working brilliantly on the Chromebox. Thanks for all the great work on this. I've got Motion Compensative and Motion Adaptive de-interlacing working on my Asus Chromebox as well with a bit of help in this thread (as well as the YADIF 2x software de-interlace). The work put in by the developers is something I'm hugely grateful for. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - nmsaraujo - 2014-09-04 Hello all, I have to replace my AMD E-450 (A45M1-DELUXE), that is running XBMC/Cloud/NAS/Apache and is almost dead, for a new HTPC. This time I will split NAS(Synology ds214play) and HTPC(Intel NUC core i5). I use HTPC mostly to watch sat live tv. I read in several places that INTEL NUC has some problems with deinterlacing. For your experience, do you believe that INTEL NUC is the most recommended hardware to run xbmc, once more, mainly to watch livetv(HD)? Thank you all. RE: vaapi-sse4: Deinterlacing Testing - noggin - 2014-09-04 I have no problems with live DVB-T/T2/S/S2 streaming using TV Headend and an i5 NUC. I use OpenElec with VAAPI decoding and YADIF 2x software de-interlacing for most of my Live TV streaming these days, though with an i5 you can do purely software decoding and deinterlacing should you wish to. NUC is Intel GPU, all Intel GPUs should act the same with the OpenElec drivers (except Baytrail and older GPU than SandyBridge maybe) With the Yadif Implementation in OE and Linux in dec 2013 i have no Problems with my HD4000 Intel GPU with LiveTV (720p, 1080i and 576i) |
