RE: Xbox One Skin - toyota12303 - 2014-10-19

@iAMl3dgend : I'm not sure when I will be able to work on the PS3 skin, as I've been really busy lately and haven't been able to work on this very much.

@LiriK : I'm not sure if this will be possible on XBMC, but I will take a good look in to it.

@bakito : Do you mean the Steam Big Picture Launcher ? This feature is already built in to the skin in the Steam section, you can launch Steam from there. At the moment you have to set Steam to big picture mode in the settings but this will be improved in the next update.

@abuabdillah3 : Yeah I'll take a look in to it as I've never used RCB before. Yeah I will try and include some nice new view options in the next updates.
Also have you tried playing around with your resolution settings ? As in the screenshots all the textures don't look right and the icons are not displaying properly.

@iAMl3dgend : Yeah, I haven't been able to work on this skin in ages, as I've just been really too busy with work. I have had some time this week to update a few things and add a few new features so a new update should hopefully be released sometime tomorrow.

@KongoLasse : Yeah I haven't been able to work on this skin in ages, but I will try and include a fix for the PVR feature in the next update.

@Stnet : Glad you like it! And hmmm, I'm not too sure of why it's doing that. I will have to take a look in to this when I get back home, I think it's all working fine on mine.

@jjlawal : That's because you haven't run through the skin setup. For most features to work you will need to run through the skin setup as this installs all the Python modules and sets everything up for you.
To start running through the setup just press A on your controller, Enter on your keyboard or select on your remote.

@DoJo_Mast3r : To pin items to the home screen, you just add it to your favourites. All favourites get displayed on the dashboard.

@Westcoastsosa : Thanks man!

1. At the moment you can't reset your friends names apart from re-running through the whole setup again. I will include an option for this in the next update.

2. If you go in to power options in the settings, select disable log in screen and then disable sign in button. The next time you boot up it should skip the sign in screen.

3. This will display library items at the moment, this can be toggled in the skin settings and you can display: Amount of songs, movies or tv shows. This feature will be getting improved in the next update.

4. Yeah if you go in to your XBMC userdata folder and you should find a file called advancedsettings.xml. If you edit this file and insert this:
PHP Code:
<splash>false</splash
and save it. The next time you start up then it should skip the splash screen.

I doubt very much that this skin will work on an iPad or iPhone because of their hardware specs. I'm not really sure of how to do that on apple devices, if you just delete the skin from the addons folder then it should go back to the default skin (Confluence).

@hotdogint: Hmmm that's weird. I'm not sure why it's doing that, in your log file it doesn't display anything about it either. if you run through the setup again and close XBMC at this part, then go in to your XBMC userdata folder and find guisettings.xml. Open this file up and search for "First" You should see a setting for the skin saying firstrun or something like that. If you change the false text to true then the next time you start up it should skip the process.

@iCanuck : It will display no internet connection if the extendedinfo script can't get fanarts. If you go in to your network settings and disable connection, then click on refresh connection. And then go in to your development section in skin settings, and select clear extendedinfo. Then the next time you start up XBMC it should have fixed your problem.

I haven't really been able to work on this skin lately as I've just been too busy with work, I am still working on it when I can and hopefully a new update should be released tomorrow. I will include a list of the changes when I start uploading it.

There is also a really big shell update that will be released soon, this includes loads of new awesome features that wasn't possible with XBMC. I still uses a custom XBMC for the GUI but it's a really modified version. All shell files have been completely re-written from scratch and there are some massive improvements. I will upload a list of the features/changes shortly.

This should be uploaded some time later on today!

RE: Xbox One Skin - hrlmbtz - 2014-10-21

i singed up just to post in this thread! lol i dont know if this has bin stated on a previous reply (theres alot of pages i didnt read em all) but i think it would be cool if this skin had some sort of steam friends list implementation so it would show your online steam Friends on top kinda like it does for xbox live Friends!? can that be done or am i just crazy!

RE: Xbox One Skin - HeadLearning - 2014-10-22

Why is this skin half a gig in size? 583.95 MB seems pretty extreme...

Xbox One Skin - anonomys209 - 2014-10-22

Cuz it's fucken awesome lol

RE: Xbox One Skin - HeadLearning - 2014-10-22

Can't really be bothered to read through 80 pages of this thread but a quick windirstat of the zip looks like there are many, many...strange...python files...executable files. Shady acres, man.

No thanks.

RE: Xbox One Skin - hrlmbtz - 2014-10-22

He's written Python scripts to add all kinds of functionality to XBMC that you wouldn't normally have. Makes it more like the XBOne. But cool bro - take it easy.

RE: Xbox One Skin - hrlmbtz - 2014-10-22

so i guess it was a problem on my mac and yosmite 10.10..so i went to my pc side of thing to check this out..just to make sure im doing this right..i install the skin.msxbox from the original post and the apply the lateset update from yesterday and thats it or do i still have to do the dependencies and all that? and if so where do i get it sorry im kinda a n00b at apply skins manually

RE: Xbox One Skin - toyota12303 - 2014-10-22

@hrlmbtz : Yeah this feature has been mentioned before, and nope I don't think this will be possible in XBMC at the moment. I am still looking in to Steam friends integration, Steam news feed ect. but haven't found anything yet. Hopefully some time in the future!

@HeadLearning : This skin is quite big because of all the textures, videos and pythonn modules. It includes the required python modules with this skin because in previous versions people were experiencing a lot of errors and crashes related to the missing python modules.

@anonomys209 : Hahaha! Thanks!

@HeadLearning : The executable files that you will find in there will be Snap, Kylo and things like that. Snap will simply take a screenshot of the open window and snap it to the dashboard, and Kylo is a TV optimized web browser. All the python files are required for skin features to work that isn't built in to XBMC. For example the ability to read and send emails, submit logs, internet control and things like that. If you think that the executables are "strange" then I can send you the source code if you like ? That way you can check for anything strange...

@hrlmbtz : Yeah a lot of people using macs are complaining about this problem, I will try and include a fix for this in the next full update. For now get to the step where XBMC crashes, close it and open up guisettings.xml located in your userdata folder. Find where it says firstrun> or first and set the false text to true. That will skip the setup process.

@hrlmbtz : To install it simply extract the skin to your addons folder and switch to it from within XBMC. It will guide you through a setup on the first time using it and it will automatically install any dependencies for you.

There is a new update shortly, I'm just uploading it now but with my internet it's probably gunna take a few hours. Some new features seen on the video in the previous post have been added in there, see the images below:
