Different build xbmc htpc help - Thomasdb - 2013-06-27 Hello, I got a few problems with a htpc i want to build. Build #3 seems good [CASE/PSU] ANTEC ISK 110 VESA / 90W ($80) [CPU/GPU] AMD A6-6400K FM2 65W / AMD Radeon HD 8470D ($80) [MOBO] MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 USB3.0 SATA-III HDMI eSATA S/PDIF UEFI ($85) [RAM] Kingston HyperX Plug and Play 4GB (2x2GB) 240-pin DDR3 1866MHz CL11 1.5V ($47) [SSD] ADATA Premier Pro SP600 32GB SATA-III 2.5" Read:360MB/s Write:130MB/s ($50) TOTAL: $342 But i got a few problems with it. 1) I cant find an affordable case because i will add my 2 x 3,5" 2tb hdd (next to the 2,5" ssd i'll buy). Is it allowed i just alter a midi tower case for this? 2) Can any1 recommend a good cpu cooler and a psu? 3) I need HD audio for my 5,1 home cinema, but i thought you could only get DTS-HD with an ati or nvidia graphic card. Will this build really get HD audio? 4) The best way to hook it up. Is it htpc ==hdmi==> hdmi in 5,1 system. hdmi out 5,1 system ==hdmi==> tv Or can you recommend me another build? I am willing to spend 600$ max. Less would be really good. Must have - DOLBY TRUE-HD & DTS-HD - 1080p movies + netflix - Play emulators - Youtube nice to have - be able to display 3d RE: Different build xbmc htpc help - eroz - 2013-06-28 Kind of sounds what I did. I went with the isk300-150, but I did not use extra hard drives. Read my update on the problems I had with the motherboard and apu combo. Wasn't difficult but a pain in the ass figuring out how to fix it. So if you have the same issue, you'll know how to fix it. my thread. |
