PseudoTV Live Skin Patch Failed - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-22 Hello, I have spent the last week and half or so trying to integrate iStream and PseudoTV Live. There are a few annoyances with the EPG crashing when trying to pull the stream info, I have played with the settings for Auto Play in iStream and also in PTVL but doe not help, even makes it worse. Current Setup XBMC 12.3 FRODO Clean Install with all dependencies and extras installed by zip along with iStream. 1 Master PC - Windows 7 / 64-bit 1 OUYA! on local network rooted and running SPMC version for hardware acc 1 Remote Client Laptop - WIN 7 / 64bit using FTP sources to test for remote client 1 QNAP NAS that holds all my data (XBMC on it blows with eden and no hardware acc) I have a MySQL database setup and everything apears good to go there both iStream and XBMC write to it from the local machines and I have the remote client laptop using its own local library on it. All of my media is on the NAS and I currently have the Laptop and the OUYA working fine but my PC for some reason I cannot patch any of the skins for the EPG to have the video overlay. "VideoWindow Patch Error" and this screws up the template and I have to reinstall PTVL. I randomly get the script error that PTVL failed and I also have to remove it and start over, for some reason I just tried deleting my settings this last time and it looked like it was going to help but then when I tried again to Patch the skin it failed. I am also a bit confused on how to setup the options for my sharing the channels and XMLTV, from what I have read I have enabled sharing on my main PC and select the network share but with nothing selected for XMLTV and then on all the others I disable the sharing but put the network share in for XMLTV ? The fanart is not working for me either, I see it downloading and filling up the drives I setup but PTVL is not pulling the art for the EPG or the channel art. I am sure this is just a settings issues. I have sent you a PM and wiling to contribute for your time, I am desperately needing to get this all fixed, after using the new PTVL for the last couple weeks I cannot go with out it. Here are some of the error logs and I know you will probably want to see the whole thing but I have passwords etc in the log. PHP Code: 10:08:56 T:5284 NOTICE: -->Python Interpreter Initialized<-- I assume this is why the EPG is not working with the fan art, I need to give write permissions to the user for XBMC again I assume. Can't this extra fan art be saved in a public directory different then where the media is? something is saving the artwork to my public share I though it was Artwork Downloader. PHP Code: 10:19:40 T:4532 ERROR: XFILE::CDirectory::Create - Error creating smb://IP.Address/Multimedia/Shared TV Shows/Kid Shows/Mickey Mouse Clubhouse/extrafanart PHP Code: 10:19:01 T:4860 ERROR: Unable to locate window with id 9506. Check skin files RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2014-03-22 @ ShaunB1980 I'm working on a smarter VideoWindow Patch, the one in use now was written quickly and crudely for testing purposes. Same goes for Donor Activation... There maybe a lot of bugs in the latest release, can't always promise things will work right off the bat. I don't have the time to test my plugin in all possible XBMC environments (which is why this plugin is Beta ) XMLTV doesn't automatically channel share, not sure where you got that info... Read Post 2 on how to use channel sharing... then configure each PTVL instance correctly. You also need to straighten out your permission issues, having XBMC configured correctly is at the core to having the best possible PTVL experience. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-22 (2014-03-22, 20:00)Lunatixz Wrote: @ ShaunB1980 It's just so damn frustrating why the overylay works on the Ouya and my Laptop but not the main machine that we use 90% of the time. I understand this is in Beta still but very frustrating that I cannot get it working after soooo many hours at it. I will have to go read that post again I thought I had the settings correct that the main PC will "share" meaning upload to the server and the others will "share" by downloading it. Is there any other instance that XBMC would need write access to my Multimedia drive ? this is the first application that has tried to write to the sources drive that I have used. All other addons I have used I can use a Public directory if somethings needs writeable for those things that are not as private. did you get a chance to read the PM that I sent ya ? I can see that you are working on your master since I have unitstalled and installed about 100 times now, I wonder if there is another version from a few days ago that worked for my other 2 devices and the new one is bugged. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - tromy - 2014-03-22 Lunatixz, after last nights update i have an issue with smart playlists channels(local content). When i choose a smart playlist channel, PLTV freezes(black screen)and i have to exit xbmc. Can't post log right now, if u need i'll post later. P.S.I still can't download posters for live tv (only landscapes-logos) Hope in the next update we'll have the ability to download "live" artwork from tvdb-tmdb. Thank you RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2014-03-22 (2014-03-22, 20:12)ShaunB1980 Wrote: It's just so damn frustrating why the overylay works on the Ouya and my Laptop but not the main machine that we use 90% of the time. Without logs I can't tell you why you are having problems... As for Channel sharing, you need to understand how it works... it basically copy's your settings2.xml from master to a client... and tries to share it's cache folder.. that way both instances are playing the exact same playlist. there is no sharing of data beyond that... so each instance of PseudoTV has to be configured independently... (2014-03-22, 20:12)ShaunB1980 Wrote: Is there any other instance that XBMC would need write access to my Multimedia drive ? this is the first application that has tried to write to the sources drive that I have used. Not sure what you are talking about public/private?? it's all relative to your configuration... I can tell you that PTVL only requires write access to (XBMC folders (ie. addon, addon_data) and Strm folders). So when you say " this is the first application that has tried to write to the sources drive that I have used. " I have noooo idea what you are referring too all my code is open to the public, you are welcome to study it and see for yourself... I can get it to play without the over lay on my PC so I might just have to wait till you get that overlay patch worked out. Thank You ! Definitively need to see that log... PTVL only downloads the artwork needed by the skin... I haven't gotten around to fixing your problem we discussed a few weeks ago... aesthetics is low on priority... Sorry... I'm overhauling the artwork downloader to allow multiple sources like you requested just gunna take some time (2014-03-22, 20:35)ShaunB1980 Wrote: I understand the frustration... RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-22 Ok well I must not have the Artwork Downloder confirmed propery or some settings in PTVL as I can only see fox, cbs, and a couple others logos on the EPG. Is it supposed to download the channel artwork ? edit: I sent you a PM with my log in it. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - tromy - 2014-03-22 (2014-03-22, 20:43)ShaunB1980 Wrote: Ok well I must not have the Artwork Downloder confirmed propery or some settings in PTVL as I can only see fox, cbs, and a couple others logos on the EPG.No,it downloads artwork for your content(movies-tv shows-music videos) RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-22 I enabled run PTVL in background to "ON" and it started downloading the art work. I'm guessing I wasn't in the EPG long enough each session for it to get downloaded. When you say PTVL needs to be able to write to the STRM folders would that mean the library stream folders I set for iStream or are you referring to a different directory ? Don't get me wrong... I care about how it looks. But I could easily waste a day cleaning it up, then make code changes that will negate that work. Once I finish the artwork downloaded overhaul I'll clean up the skins. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-23 Ok so I am still having trouble syncing my channel list with all 3 devices, my problem is I do not know what to put for the settings in PSTV. I am tring to keep the settings2.xml file out on the network share. There are 2 different spots to enter a location for your channel settings, the first one also has the tick box to share. Do I enbable share channel and put the link to my shared channel folder on all of the devices ? What about the XMLTV location do I enter the share directory for all of the devices ? Also not sure what happened buy my channel editor stopped working on the main PC with your later master version that has the "Sharing" tab in the opions. It comes up and shows the channel list but when I select a channel to edit it does not let me select anything. I have read post 2 over an over trying to figure it out but still having some difficulties. edit: i stepped away for a few minutes to gather my thoughts and I think what I need to do is have the PC and OUYA share channels at point to the settings2.xml and the laptop that will be mobile needs to not share channels but include the link to the settings2.xml that way when PSTV creates the strm links in the cash they will operate using the correct library links that the laptop uses for its own library. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-23 ok well it appears my solution doesnt work either, I tried disabling sharing but then it doesnt download the settings2.xml from my share folder. I just want to be able to make changes to one settings2.xml file and have all my devices update using that file instead of having to save the file to all the current devices and any future every time I make a change. what am i doing wrong here ? RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ShaunB1980 - 2014-03-23 hmm maybe I need to enable sharing but point that link to the devices local user settings for the channel cache and then on each device XMLTV settings point to the shared settings2.xml ? ARGH!!! that didn't work either, its like the option for the location to XMLTV doesnt update everytime, does it only download once or do I have to share the channels to be able to share the settings2.xml ? this operation is very slow when the client has to "sync" channels and what not. |
