I am doing the exact same steps but trying to name the channel Little House on the Prairie. I type the full name and click on Done and the name is truncated to "Little House on th" on the Set Channel Name screen. That's before I ever hit backspace or anything. Immediately after I click done on the keyboard.

I have no control of the textbox... BTW, It doesn't need to be opened to enter text, it's active the second its highlighted...

I didn't realize that it didn;t need to be opened. Noted.

Quote:As for "Little House on th" again... I know you are a long time PTV user... but you may need to brush up on some stuff, It's well documented here that the Channel Name limit is 18 characters.

My apologies. I guess I do need to brush up on PTVL rules. That also explains the couple stations whose logos weren't appearing as the shows had long names. What makes this hard to realize is that PTVL will show the full naae in the EPG even if it's over 18 characters. It is only in the custom name editor where you see it get truncated. If you never try to give it a custom name and don;t know about the 18 character limit, then a user will never understand why their channel logo isn't showing.

But there is still truly a bug. When you set a custom channel name, PTVL always includes a leading space that you can't see but is present in the settings2.xml.

For all chtypes? Can you give me repeatable steps to see space?

Not really. I'm a donor (and I don't for a second regret donating) but due to various hosting issues I've never been able to get the donor icons. I've been making use of an increasingly showing its age logo collection from the old Milkman collection, but the missing logos there have me looking at no-frills skins to get some kind of consistency in look and feel. Will be testing the new Sky skin for precisely that reason soon.

I'm certain I'm not the only one who is a donor and is unable to access the logos, so telling people to donate for access or implying that by donating access will be granted is a bit misleading. Sure, eventually everyone who donated will eventually get access -- but those seeking a specific look in their skins are going to have to wait a while. We're all going to have to be patient.

Lunatixz, could you please answer even a single message I have sent in this thread or in your PM box?

I haven't had a chance to test out the plugins you are having problems with... when I get a chance i'll add support.

I read them. None of them mentions anything regarding asking for availability of a feature or commenting on a feature request, so I don't understand why I don't get any answers.

I'm sorry, I thought you included a picture of a problem, requesting I fix it?... Obviously you can understand that such a thing would be silly accompanied with no log...

I can't spend all day answering questions... so forgive me if i'd rather spend the little free time I have programing a new feature, then idle on the forums talking about it Tongue . If you want an idea of the progress of PTVL follow me on twitter, I would most likely post info there. Smile

No Guide - Android Arm - MoRbIdBoY - 2015-03-14

I kind of get where your going with this plug, but it seems a tad bloated. Reminds me of a certain other plugins 'channels' option. Anyway good luck with it, it looks interesting.

There is a major problem with it on my device (Android Arm, Kodi 14.2 rc 1, Samsung Galaxy S3), in that it doesn't display the guide when I tap on the screen to get the guide overlay. I can long press to get Exit Pseudotv option OK.

If I cant change channel, that's a pretty big fail.

PC version seems to work OK, exactly same software and build (cloned setup).

Tried different skins (Confluence) and different 'visuals' settings in plugin itself, tried software rather than hardware acceleration Kodi 14.2 doesn't allow full screen window, true full screen option anymore in system setup or I would have tried that as well.

Cheers.

oh, one other thing, Kodi autoplay sources sometimes leaves a playback failed dialog up, video playing from a good source, but when you click the playback failed dialog to close it (because you cant leave it there) it exits pseudotv.

Never get a 'sticky' playback failed dialog box when other plugins use it... it closes automatically before the next source is tried.

I upgraded all the logos from the milkpack to a 300x109 just to make them more readable on my system (win 7 on a 65"), as far a missing or broken logos, I found the previously mentioned extra added space added to the channel name was all over my sys2 file. I had to make a habbit of creating the channel in app, then editing the sys2 file w notepad++ to make sure the channel name was what I wanted. all in all not more work but for me consistant with succesful loadings of channels and logos. Logos, Ive made mostly custome ones to add to the milkpack as I make wierd channels for myself.

all in all Im very happy with the amount Im able to do know.... its now just a matter of taking my ransome note of a sys2 file and rebuilding it more cleanly.

The only glitch im having is NOT BEING ABLE TO GET BACKGROUND LOADING TO STICK TO OFF Smile ive editied the sys file notepad++, cleared cache pulled hair out and smashed a keyboard in frustration.... but ill figure it out Smile

Thanks again on the great app. and thanks Luna for releasing the extra channel lists, they helped me figure out several problems I was having with some channel creation

THANK YOU for the anwser to the background loading

The only time background loading is forced is when settop is enabled. It's required that background updating be enabled for settop mode.

I only use TV show, Movie Genre and Playland channel types and it happens on all of them. Steps to reproduce are the same as I mentioned earlier for truncated name except it also happens when I don't hit backspace while channel name is highlighted. Just set a channel name and save it then look at the name in settings2.xml.
