XBMC linux help (new) - dopeythatme - 2013-07-17

Hello, I'm still sort of new.

I have a few questions. I'm running Ubuntu 12 desktop

1) how can i make xbmc load up automatically from when my system is powered on?
2) xbmc wont reconize my /sdb and /sdc drives they are reconized in ubuntu but not in xbmc

Thank you for your help.

You need to mount your drives via fstab. There are plenty of howtos on the net. Then add them as video sources.

As far as auto start is concerned, take a look at Step 4 of Post 1 in this thread

Are you able to add those mounted drives as video sources in XBMC?

By the way: Thou shalt not bump thine own thread in less than 24 hours (see forum_rules (wiki)).

(sorry for the bump then, didnt no that rule)

and no i was not able to find them in XBMC, unless im really looking in the wrong place

Would it matter if as of this mount nothing is stored on those drives?

Videos > Files > Add Videos... > Browse > Root filesystem > navigate to the mountpoints for your drives

That's assuming you had mounted your drives in the operating system. Just because you see devices sdb and sdc doesn't necessarily mean they have been mounted as well. See this tutorial if applicable: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingANewHardDrive
