RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - aussie_huddo - 2014-06-27

I get the same thing capfuturo does when i select the "Filter" button and in the theme browser, but only on shows that already have a theme. On the shows without themes and the "Action" command I get absolutely nothing happening.

I'm running on mac so can you advise where to access the tvtunes debugging log? I know where the xbmc log is.

It's in the same log file, but you need to enable it in the settings:

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - aussie_huddo - 2014-06-27

yeah sorry, realised after i typed that.

here is the log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=235743

i opened xbmc then went to the tvtunes addon and selected "filter" then "action" then went into the manual search section and performed a search on a show which already had a theme (as i said above this works fine and goes through the process, but at the end it says "could not play file, see log" or something similar". then i tried to run a search on a show without a theme and nothing happens.

I had the log open in console and nothing at all seems to happen when i press on the "action" button. But hopefully you guys can help.

Loks like a problem downloading from television tunes:

Any chance you could try it with a different scrapper (maybe goear?) and see if that works for you?

All this code is doing is a copy to the plugins temp folder from the web using a standard python library.

I'm not so worried about that specific error as it seem to not be affecting the program. It downloads the file but then just doesnt play it back after.

The biggest issue is when i try to scan all tv shows or even just one, nothing happens. Literally the log just says that i pressed 'enter' and then nothing happens.

Is there a way to completely remove the add-on and then reinstall it?

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - capfuturo - 2014-06-27

@aussie_huddo: what skin are you using? You say the themes aren't played, have you turned on TvTunes in the skin settings? If you go to the information panel of each movie, do you see the TvTunes button? If so, can you click on it and fetch the theme? If you can, does it play whilst you are in the movie's info panel?

You can uninstall the add-on from its config panel under settings -> add-ons.

RE: TvTunes Addon - Action button non-responsive - ipottinger - 2014-06-28

Hi

I am having pretty much the same problem as others. In my case, TVTunes works fine if used from the TV Information or Movie Information screens. However, if I go to PROGRAMS > ADD-ONS and enter TVTunes proper, the "[Action]: Retrieve Missing Themes" button is completely non-responsive. The "[Filter]: Show Only Missing Themes" button opens a stark TVTunes slide-in screen where I must press "Play" in order to toggle the Filter button. I am using XBMC version 13.1 with the "Confluence" skin. In PROGRAMS > ADD-ONS, TVTunes lists itself as version 4.4.6. I can, on your request, provide a debug log, if that be useful. Since it works fine from the Information screens, this is a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.

Regardless, this is one of my "Must-Have" add-on's. I appreciate your generosity in extending to the community at large the fruits of your labour and the time and effort involved. Thank you.

Ian

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - robwebset - 2014-06-28

Hi ipottinger,

The "Play" dialog is because of the setting detailed in this post:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=173799&pid=1741979#pid1741979

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about this - as XBMC displays this dialog BEFORE calling the TvTunes addon - so TvTunes can not prevent it being displayed - I would suggest setting it to "Play" instead of "Choose".

For the "Retrieve Missing Themes" it would be good to have a log file - also, what OS are you running this on?

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - tinybutstrong - 2014-07-10

Today I removed a show from my library and tried to re-scrape without success a lot times, logs was reporting same message:

"16:28:11 T:3812 WARNING: No information found for item 'I:\Seriados\Under the Dome\', it won't be added to the library."

So I removed the tvtunes.nfo from the folder: bingo! now the show was added fine.

Not sure where is the problem, but there is a problem for sure in XBMC itself or in TvTunes Addon.

FYI I use TVDB scraper.

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - capfuturo - 2014-07-10

@tinybutstrong: I guess it is an issue with TVDB that perhaps is assuming any NFO present in the folder as the TV show' NFO. This is however very easy to assess: it would help a lot if you could please check whether the behaviour you described happens as well for movies, using UMS or TMDB scrapers, when trying to re-scrape a deleted movie. If not, then this is likely to be an issue entirely associated to TVDB scraper.

Thanks!

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - tinybutstrong - 2014-07-11

Surprise capfuturo, I had already confirmed the issue with UMS in past, check post bellow:

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - capfuturo - 2014-07-11

OK, good thing! So there is an issue with regards to how not just one, but both scrapers, the TVDB and UMS are picking the <movie>.nfo which, just as Rob says in your linked post, would be worth presenting it to the scraper's developers in their respective threads so they can tune that aspect in their add-ons.

I am wondering what is going on with TMDB scraper and most importantly, with the new 'Local NFO only' scraper that came with Gotham; would be quite helpful for all to have this information so to assess the extension of the issue, and if at least one scraper is free from this issue. I think this is certainly important for those using TvTunes.nfo or/and any other NFO file at the same level of the video files different that <movie/tvshow>.nfo

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - timdog82001 - 2014-07-20

Thanks for your amazing script!

I am having an issue with TvTunes. My setup is an Ouya with the most recent version of XBMC, hardwired with gigabit ethernet to my dedicated DS1513+ Synology server, with data shared via password protected SMB. I've tried searching the forums for this issue, but haven't had luck so far. Here is what happens:

1. I navigate into my TV Shows directory, and then into the directory of an individual TV show, e.g. "The 4400."
2. There is a maybe 2 second lag the first time I enter any show's directory after first starting XBMC before the theme starts to play. Perhaps this is just the Ouya lagging? If I exit that show and then reenter it or another show, those followup shows begin to play the theme in less than a second. I'm not particularly worried about this, but sharing it in case it could be indicative of any specific issues.

3. The next two things are the things I'm most trying to solve: When I do exit a individual show's directory and go back to the TV Show folder where I'm browsing all the different TV shows again, the theme of the show whose directory I was just in continues playing for probably 1-2 seconds before it finally stops. Then, the theme of the first show in my directory of shows (in my case, "3rd Rock from the Sun") begins to play for 1-2 seconds before it suddenly cuts off. This particular theme plays every time, regardless of what particular show's directory I was just in. It does NOT do it if I enter the full TV Show list from the XBMC main menu. I do NOT have "Play Themes when browsing TV show list" enabled.
4. Sporadically, no themes will play for a few minutes no matter which shows' directories I go into. Then TVTunes will start working again a few minutes later.

Numbers 3 and 4 are the main problems. Here is a link to my debug log....I submitted a two debug logs during it, so keep reading past the first one. I went into several shows and they all had the same issues....then after I submitted the first debug log using the uploader app, I experienced the aforementioned issue with the TVTunes stopping working entirely, so I submitted another one.

I would greatly appreciate any help!

RE: TvTunes Addon - Retrieve and play your soundtrack themes whilst browsing your library - robwebset - 2014-07-21

Hi timdog82001

For item 1 & 2 - this could be for a number of reasons, anything from your NAS needing to spin the disks up before XBMC can read them - or even slow initial authentication.

For 3,
1) The delay in stopping could be because you have "Fade Out" enabled
2) Check to ensure that you do not have a theme in your root directory - as it might be picking that up when there is no specific show theme to play

For 4,
Check to ensure that you do not have something like the screensaver timing set shorted than the theme playing duration:
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add-on:TvTunes#Known_Issues

I can't access the logs at the moment, http://xbmclogs.com is not responding.

Please can you ensure that you post seperate logs for each issue, and they are as short as possible (i.e. don't do lots of operations in a single log), having large log files is just not managable when trying to track down issues.

If possible - please can you regenerate new specific log files for the problems?

Also, which version of XBMC and skin are you using?

Thanks

Rob

Hi timdog82001

I have had a quick look at the log - there doesn't appear to be any obvious errors.

Maybe check your hooks in the skin you are using.

I do not have any Android devices that I can test on - so will not be able to reproduce your environment in order to debug.
