RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - Memphiz - 2014-08-06

its not the final fix btw - i am in contact with upstream...

RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - crazyazz - 2014-08-06

Great work on these builds, appreciate the hard word. I have an issue with not being able to shutdown the PI, it just reboots. Been like it for the last few builds. Any fix?

I have the same problem.

RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - ElectricPim - 2014-08-11

I reported the shutdown/reboot/XBMC restart issue at the 07/08 version. Miappa confirmed. The last version I had that didn't show the problem was the 06/01 build. but I skipped a few versions in between.

Annoying, but my workaround is using ssh: sudo poweroff.

NB! This is a more experimental build from popcornmix´s newclock4 branch.
See explanation here and here.

Tried this newclock 4 build:
- no sound, hifiberry is not recognized
- can't play video's, nor in DVDPlayer nor OMXplayer
removed advancedsettings.xml and tried different settings under video -> acceleration

Code:
12:13:03 545.998535 T:3039319088 WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(player)::Put MSGQ_NOT_INITIALIZED
12:13:03 545.999695 T:2920281152  NOTICE: Thread DVDPlayer start, auto delete: false
12:13:03 546.000854 T:2920281152  NOTICE: Creating InputStream
12:13:03 546.003723 T:2920281152   ERROR: Open - Unhandled exception
12:13:03 546.004089 T:2920281152   ERROR: Open - Error opening nfs://**
It just played some streams in very low resolution (Creating video codec with codec id: 28 288x162) while normally it chooses 600+340.

So I reverted to the latest newclock 3 Wink

RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - kl1k - 2014-08-12

I'm having a problem since the last update where xbmc seems to die every other night. I can still ssh into the pi and if I restart xbmc it comes back to life.

Nothing useful in the logs.

Have you tried debug logging?
System -> settings -> debugging (settings level Expert)

Power saving accidentally enabled?

SD card nearly full?

Now that you have mentioned that - I checked again this morning. Screen blank. I didnt think to do this before but pressed a button on the remote and the screen came back on.

Its like the setting "put display to sleep when idle" is on. This setting seems to be missing from raspbmc though.

Ive checked the screen saver and its not set to a complete dim.

This actually happens as soon as I power off the TV - powering on again and the screen in "sleeping"

Be glad, save some energy. Sounds like a CEC setting.

Settings -> input devices -> peripherals -> CEC adapter.

Otherwise I would have run out of tips. Last one left: Wake up at 3.21 AM a couple of nights to see what's going on. Wink

RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - kl1k - 2014-08-14

Thanks. Found a setting "when tv is switched off" - was set to suspend. Changed to ignore and its fixed the problem.

RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - miappa - 2014-08-17

miappa I just wanted to say thank you so very very much for these builds. I noticed the nightlies only go around April on the RaspBMC menu.

It's so nice to be able to test "bleeding-edge" as I noticed with the RasPi, it seems newer releases fix many quirks that you just don't always see on other platforms. Smile

Need to update header files in /opt/vc/include (e.g. by updating userland repo, or running rpi-update).

RE: RaspBMC Kodi/XBMC test builds - miappa - 2014-08-17

Ah, thanks. Will post a nc4 build tomorrow.
