For videos we popup a dialog for scanning in the video files.
We should do the same for music.
After adding the music source popup a dialog asking if the user wants to scan the music to the library yes/no

good idea. that should be easy enough to do. will take a look at this for post-gotham.

probably only couple of lines to kick to scan dialog + language strings (unless it will require lots of hacking) so i was hoping this would be approved to go into Gotham to improving user experience

I'm a fan of this idea. It should probably be noted though that on many platforms the source where people keep their music is already added by default. I know this is definitely true on OSX. Not sure about elsewhere.
