RE: Aeon Nox 5 - essential - 2019-01-31
My Nvidia Shield updated my Kodi automatically today and Aeon Nox no longer works, and it's not listed in the "Get More" part of the skins menu to re-install. Can I install it manually via the zip file or is it not compatible with Leia at this time?
edit:
I know the version I had was incompatible, but I'm not sure if the current zip from the Aeon Nox 5 page install is also incompatible?

To get my Kodi 18 build working I used modified Aeon Nox version 7.0.2, when updated skin is released will it autoupdate the 7.0.2 that I am using?

Possibly not. According to the github page, the current version is 7.0.2, the same as what you have installed. If he issues with that version number it won't update because the updater won't see it as a new version, rather the same version.
Where did you get the modified version from?

Have you heard any update on the new skin? I’m in the same boat as others. Nvidia shield auto updated kodi and aeon nox is now gone sadly.

Just download Aeon Nox 7.0.2 from BigNoid's github : https://github.com/BigNoid/Aeon-Nox
And install it as Zip file. That what I've done on Windows, LibreELEC and Android.

Would be nice to have an official release, even with known issues if there are any, that I could install from within Kodi 18.

When i search in the forum, it looks that it is stil not release official for kodi 18
Where can this information be found ? , when it is release or not ?

Well, the developer seems to have gone quite. If I were you, I would install another version for now- I suggest Aeon Nox:Silvo, until Aeon Nox 5 is released. Your settings should still be there when you eventually upgrade it.
Who knows, you may like it better than the original...

Here's something that's helped me deal with the skin issues through the years. Most Kodi users could adopt a "skip-an-update" approach (stay on Krypton until Mooseknuckle comes out, which then lessens the update pains by not making it so frequent) or a "one-gen behind" approach (e.g., stay on Krypton and update to Leia when Mooseknuckle comes out, at which time all Leia add-ons and bugs have been worked out). For 99% of people, Krypton provides you with everything you need, but I know that human nature involves wanting the latest and greatest at any given time.
