It now adds an audio settings option to
"Boost centre channel when downmixing"

The DRC scheme now works with stereo input, and also when xbmc's volume is less than maximum.
You can see the current amplification value (in dB) on the status overlay ('o' key).

If you add (to advancedsettings.xml):
Code:
<audio>
    <limiterhold>100</limiterhold>
  </audio>

It will behave less dynamically and won't back off the attenuation which may be better for normalised different volume levels.

Thanks popcornmix, look forward to trying it out

Hi all,

Tried your version of frodo. The problem i'm still having is that i have a wi pi wich is working some times if i have lucky. I think
it is a driver problem. Is there anything I can do to make it work again?

Thx

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - soupboy - 2013-09-05

I've manage to narrow down the reason i can't boot with any Gotham builds. At boot i make i can get to xbmc spash screen but no further. I have full access with ssh and samba but cannot get it any further.

The problem appears to lie in the database folder in the userdata. Removing this folder will allow the pi to boot first time and as long as i don't update/add anything to the library i can reboot fine.

Not sure why frodo doesn't appear to have an issue with this? Tried with multiple Gotham builds and frodo builds and its only the Gotham that appears to have this issue.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - popcornmix - 2013-09-05

@soupboy
Gotham uses MyVideos76.db, and Frodo uses MyVideos75.db.
It's possible MyVideos76.db is corrupt and is stopping booting.
I'd suggest deleting it and rescanning. (If you delete it, I think it might convert MyVideos75.db to MyVideos76.db itsefl).

Any comments on this?

I've been noticing some strange CPU utilisation while on the main Movie list page (viewed across SSH via 'top'). This is with latest rbej frodo build but I have also seen similar issue with recent gotham builds too. Library is accessed across a NFS share and datebase is MySQL on separate NAS. Default Confluence skin with scrolling plot disabled.

The utility of CPU seems highly dependent on what view is selected. In 'thumbnail' view I see CPU use of around 30%. This rises to 40% in 'list' or 'big list', to around 60% in the 'media info' views, right up to close on 90% when in 'thumbnail' view. However when I remain in 'thumbnail' view but select 'hide information' in the side panel options CPU drops to around 30% !!!

Why would the display of this info take such a large amount of processing? Especially with scrolling plot disabled. Is there any other settings that may effect this?

Ignore Frodo, that will not be fixed. A number of issues with dirty rectangle processing have been fixed in Gotham.
If you spot problems in Gotham (i.e. high CPU when screen appears to be static) then report here:

Include screenshot with dirty rectangle visualisation enabled.

Can you confirm if you are happy with OpenELEC 3.1.7?

Same here... frode + gotham both no live tv.
Back to official openelec 3.1.7 where live tv actually works.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - rbej - 2013-09-05

I think some omx patches or ffmpeg patches causing problem with Live TV.

RE: OpenELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi Part 2 - Trickname - 2013-09-05

Live Tv working fine with kernel 3.10.8 -24.08- here. (2 sec)
Newer not.

Openelec testing 3.1.7 live Tv works, startup time 8 sec

(all for my setup)

Thanks - interesting. Will do some more testing in Gotham and will report if I see issues.

Yes ! Live tv in OE 3.1.7 is rock solid ! Not as fast channel change as in last working Gotham, but no other issue (with live tv)

File looks okay. Can you upload it (or a sample of it that shows the problem) and give me a link.
