RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Bay Trail 2013 edition - DN2820FYKH) - pigr8 - 2014-12-27

ah sorry for that, i think i found de problem but don't know how to fix it.

my setup is OpenElec 4.97.3 (but with 4.2.1 is the same) on the DN2820, i have a HP MCE remote and a URC 7960 remote that has cloned the HP buttons, so they are basically identical.

this is what is going on with a short debug log

the first parti is the URC, if i press rapidly DOWN button Lirc doesn't recognize every single button pressed but instead a repeat.
the second part is button DOWN hold down for a couple of sec, and it repeats correctly as it should.
the third part is the HP remote with the same code, if i press rapidly DOWN Lirc can read every button press correctly and so UI are not laggy at all.
the last part is a hold DOWN button and it repeats as it should.

that is strange because the code is the same on both remotes as you can see, so there is something like calibration or config that cannot see the remote rapidly pressing the down button on the URC.

i tried to play a bit with ir-keytable -D -P but no success.

i tried KODIbuntu 14 official and both HP and URC remotes are working perfectly fine and identical so it must something in OpenElec that is different in Lirc or so.

Thanks for the support Smile

I have Windows 8.1 and Kodi. My problem is after wake up I should launch Kodi manually everytime. The other programs staying after wake up. I'm getting this bug only with 14.0

Edit: I fixed the problem

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Bay Trail 2013 edition - DN2820FYKH) - chuchuj - 2015-01-06

I received a DN2820FYKH for christmas. I have a few issues.

Running the latest build of openElec it get jagged vertical lines when opening and closing the hidden side menus. Audio drop-outs for about a second. when watching BD25s with DTS-HD MA tracks. When the audio returns the AV is still in sync. It may be an issue with others but not yet tested.

I have installed KodiBuntu, here the jagged horizontal lines are still an issue. However, no audio issues. My only gripe is the lack of IR support in KodiBuntu. I have seen several posts on-line referring to the fix below. However, this do not appear to work for me.

cd /storage/.config
touch autostart.sh
chmod 0777 autostart.sh
nano autostart.sh

# IR fix
modprobe -r nuvoton-cir
echo "auto" > /sys/bus/acpi/devices/NTN0530\:00/physical_node/resources
modprobe nuvoton-cir

Are there any configuration options in Kodi that I can change to resolve the above?

Thanks in advance Smile

The jagged vertical lines sounds like problems I've had in the past with poor quality HDMI cables. Try swapping it out for another one and see what happens.

RE: Intel NUC - HTPC (Bay Trail 2013 edition - DN2820FYKH) - YaPaY - 2015-01-06

Is there any way to configure remote control and assign new kodi commands like update library. Actually, I am looking for a utility to see command codes when I press anu key to remote. Therefore I can configure kodi.

Is there any way to see Ir codes?

All resolved. Smile

I have tweaked the settings on my TV and the vertical lines have gone.

The sound was resolved by turning the "Intel Dynamic Power" setting in the BIOS to off.

Hi all
I've just seen a comment on hot deals website regarding increasing the video ram in the bios settings to 512? Is this right?
If so what will that actually do?
I've not changed anything since original instal, all seems ok but if I can get picture better then I will give it a go.
Thanks

It will allocate 512MB to the GPU from your system RAM. On KODIBuntu I have it at 512MB and still have around 800MB of my 2GB of RAM free.

Thanks for the reply . Sorry what does that actually do (still learning about nuc's etc) does it make picture better or loading quicker ?
I have 4gb just running openelec. So sounds like I have enough room to change .

Is there anything else I need to boost?

Thanks again

Just do it, most of all if you have 4gb ram. More video memory will give you more memory to cache the stream, amongst other things. You can only benefit from increased video memory.
I have assigned 512 mb since the beginning and everything is fine I still have around 3gb free running openelec.
The only issues are kernel or video driver related.

I have DN2820FYKH with Kodi for Win 8.1 and a Samsung Smart TV with smart remote. I was wondering if I can use one of Samsung's remote with Samsung IR blaster to control Kodi for Win 8.1

I can't be sure with Windows, but I was certainly able to set my 2820 (running OpenELEC) to accept commands from my Pioneer TV remote. Works great.

I found this thread (http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=207126) but it's only for OpenELEC.
