Pi + USB stick + WiFi Stick + USB Hub + Decent PSU

Around 60 notes

Pi is probably best bet on that budget.

Farnell and RS are the direct distributors. Other sellers are resellers, and tend to cost a little more (although may offer bundles).

thanks again.

am i right in thinking if it comes with an sd card i wont need a usb stick, and if im hard wiring i wont need the wifi adapter

No wifi needed if you are using Ethernet.

Some bundles come with an sd card, some don't. Depending on your setup, you might see some speed increase using combo of booting from sd and then storing userdata (library, skin files, etc...) on a usb stick

is the starter pack here a good place to start?

It doesn't come with an sdcard as standard. You can get a (good performing) 8G sdcard from here:
http://swag.raspberrypi.org/collections/frontpage/products/noobs-8gb-sd-card

for £4 (+£1 postage). It's preinstalled with raspberry pi software which is good to get things up and running.

You don't need a USB stick (there may be a small performance benefit to using a USB stick, but it's quite marginal, and you can always try that later).

Yes that is a good place to start however you may want to use a USB stick later with the SD card as this improves menu speeds within xbmc

That is a good price, how well do they run ?

RE: £60 to get xbmc on my tv? - Johno_c - 2014-03-17

What's difference between that and the mk808b? And what else would I need?

If you're watching live football as in live TV then a Raspberry Pi may be too weak. If you're referring to some random plugin then it'll most likely work fine.

yes live tv
