XBMC fails to start on UBUNTU 12.04 - Handax - 2014-03-30
Dear friends can you help ??
I installed XBMC on UBUNTU 12.04 typing the following in Terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc
When I try to run XBMC from Dash Home, nothing happens.
When I try to run from Terminal I get :
nikos@nikos-acer1640:~$ xbmc
/usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin: undefined symbol: _ZTIN6TagLib5ID3v219Latin1StringHandlerE

I use an ACER 1640 laptop with Intel 950 as a graphics card.
I already tried to uninstall and reinstall but nothing happened.
Any thoughts welcome

Thats not xbmc from our PPA.

I installed the XBMC the way I told you.
Any Ideas or suggestions?
If thats the problem why isn't it fixed when I uninstall and reinstall it

Can you post the output of apt-cache policy xbmc, please - let's see what you've got and where it came from...
