+1 thanks much, especially being able to do this w/o a box in hand Smile.

This Nuvola Box looks awesome. RAM and all - only best from the best.
Has anybody seen and tested this one?

awesome, DTS and AC3 working.....

Will DTS and AC3 be supported in the final build of gotham?

I saw it asked earlier but couldn't find an answer.. Where in the settings do I turn off mediacodec?

It's already late in the Gotham release process, but I'll try...

This build played the monsters clip w/o errors.

Found it. Settings > Video > turn on Settings Level Advanced > Acceleration > Allow hardware acceleration (media codec)

Awesome, I will have to load this up. DiegoMejia, do you know what is needed to bypass Amazon Home as the default launcher? Is it just locked down by Amazon, and could be fixed after root is released? I already tried Nova Launcher and tried to set it as the default but it didn't stick.

You should see an option at the bottom of the settings that say something along the lines of Standard level. Go to that and change it to Advanced or Expert...or something like that.

You're a cool person to help us this much with hardware you don't even own. Many Thanks Smile

Haha, all for $300. Not even the same kind of thing as the fire tv.

RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - underworld123 - 2014-04-11

Thanks Koying....this is invaluable.

To summarize, we have two updated builds (correct me, if this is wrong):
1. SPMC 12.4.2 (http://filez.semperpax.com/5r4ln85l) will support DTS and AC3 passthough and is based on Frodo 12.3.
2. Gotham build (http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/android/arm/xbmc-20140411-88ab6ea-fixamcoutput-armeabi-v7a.apk) does not support passthorugh - Only libstagefright is fixed!.

I have updated the Wiki accordingly.

RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - alextrude - 2014-04-11

Can these two updated builds also be used for my pivos xios?
Until now i am very unhappy with that one. Doesn't work for me this pivos xios box like i thought it would.

RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - n3on - 2014-04-11

How likely is it to get MediaCodec working on for this piece of hardware? All of my divx/xvid video is choppy with libstagefright. Back when I had an ouya using MediaCodec it would play xvid/divx and x264 flawlessly, libstagefright only seems to work well for x264.

Thanks for all of your work Koying.

The pivos uses amlogic hardware which is totally different from this box. Their forums appear very active and your best bet would probably be there: http://www.pivosforums.com/viewforum.php?f=11

So, either of these are preferable over XBMC for OUYA 12.3.2 for Fire TV? Thanks.
