I would say that may be better.

Any advice ?

My steps were:
Reflashed with recovery USB
6 gb partition
selected Chrome/Open Elec
set boot options to open elec after 30 seconds

I believe you are having the same problem that I am having as well. Do you have a desktop monitor to test with as well? I think that ours are defaulting to a resolution that is causing a video output error on an HDTV, rather than choosing 1080p.

np, sorry for the inconvenience. I try to test everything here prior to making it public, but obviously can't test every permutation, and the lack of MAC address isn't one that I normally bother with unless I change something related to it

out of curiosity, is the ability to patch the mac address back in missing from the OE version of the script because it's not possible on OE or just for lack of demand (for lack of a better word)? i'd have patched my mac address back in long ago if it had been available without needing to create and boot a live stick. not that it matters much for me now Wink

it's mostly a result of the OE firmware updater script being functionally limited by the lack of a bash shell in OE. Everything in that script is different/separate from the main EZ script, and I'm not a fan of having to maintain multiple scripts with similar function but different implementations

quit being lazy and just boot a live USB already Smile

correct, though you can get away with one if you copy the firmware from USB to another PC before creating the install media (which will wipe the USB)

retry using 14.10 (w/kubuntu-desktop), I think 15.04 still has some issues that I'd need to modify the script to work around.

I've ordered the ASUS Chromebox M060U Desktop and an extra 2GB of ram as it was cheaper than buying the M031U, just in case decide later on to switch to full linux on it

Ok, is this going to require me to reset my chromebox to factory settings and completely start over or can I just run the script again?

just re-run the script. You'd only need to reset if you wanted to change the partition size (or switch to OpenELEC)

Hi Matt,

I looked in wiki trying to check for any troubleshooting options for my problem but not sure if I see one . I have a dual boot OE/ chrome OS w/ 30sec delay. I turned it on today and I'm just getting a black screen. I've switched hdmi cables and also tried different hdmi ports to no avail. Do you think a factory restore is necessary? Thanks in advance.

Does the TV/display indicate it's receiving a signal? A factory reset won't work if the box isn't booting at all. You can try booting with the recovery button pressed and see if you get video that way
